Hey y’all, happy Friday! This week flew by since it was a short one with the kids being off Monday. We have a very busy weekend on deck, too, so I’m sure it will fly by as well. Here are a few of my faves to kick off the weekend…
O N E – Record Player
I think it’s safe to say that one of my favorite items from the last few weeks is my new record player that Brian got for me for our anniversary!! This record player is gorgeous. It’s the perfect cross between modern and old-fashioned, and the light-up dial on the front is so much fun.
The player is 4-in-1, and it combines modern technology with older design. You can play vinyl, listen to FM radio, stream via Bluetooth, or listen with headphones. You can also connect your favorite speakers to it if you have a specific sound preference.
It’s easy to use, and it’s been so dang fun to listen to music this way… I haven’t listened to vinyl since I was a kid. While it’s much quicker and way more convenient to use a Bluetooth speaker to play music from your phone, there’s just something about pulling a record out of the dust jacket, placing it on the turntable, and moving the arm to the record that just makes me feel grounded and in the present. The process is comforting, probably because of the nostalgia of simpler times… and it’s definitely a more rewarding experience than commanding my robot (Alexa) to, “Play music from “Lindsay’s iPhone.” Haha.
You just can’t beat the Victrola brand either. They produced the original in-home record player, and their company has been around for well over 100 years, so it was the first brand I considered when shopping for one.
If you’ve been thinking of starting a vinyl collection, or if you have old vinyl laying around that you inherited from a family member, this record player is an excellent choice to get started. It’s dependable, the quality is great, and it is GORGEOUS. I couldn’t possibly love it more!
T W O – Record Player Stand
I had no place to put my record player or my vinyl, so we purchased this record player stand in the Amazon spring sale, and I looooveeee it. It’s probably slightly too big for the space where we put it, but I don’t even care.
This piece of furniture is substantial, and the quality is much better than I had anticipated. Honestly, it reminds me of all of the products that we have purchased from IKEA over the years. We have a TON of Billy Bookcases from IKEA, and while they were pretty inexpensive, the quality is excellent.
This stand was SUPER easy to put together. It came with explicit instructions and, again, it was just like putting together a piece of furniture from IKEA. It has a modern sleek look, but the legs give it a vintage vibe which is perfect for the aesthetic I was going for. It comes in five different finishes, and I decided to grab a white one because white is my favorite for storage furniture pieces.
It has six open cubes in different sizes, and it can hold around 350 vinyl records. It even has a built-in power strip with three outlets which is AMAZING because I was able to plug in my record player, our Bluetooth speaker, and my “Now Playing” light up sign that I purchased for my records. I couldn’t be more pleased with it, and I am having way too much fun styling it. It’s not done yet, but I’ll be sure to share it once it’s finished. In the meantime, this is what it looks like now...
I mentioned these sandals last week in my Five on Friday post, and I don’t think I’ve had that many purchases through a single link in a long time. Apparently y’all LOVE THESE SHOES so I’m posting about them again.
This was the pair of sandals that I purchased for myself for this summer, and I can confirm that the quality is excellent, they are super comfortable (they have a contoured footbed and a cushioned sole), and they are really cute. They come in several different colors, and this particular color is still fully stocked. They were on major sale when I purchased them, and unfortunately, they’re no longer on sale, but in my opinion, they are still a good value at full price for the quality.
F O U R – Biker Shorts from
My Beloved Leggings Brand!!
These All in Motion leggings are the best of all-time (and I have tried a LOT of brands across all price ranges). I love them so much that I have seven pairs + two pairs of the flare legged version. They. Are. Incredible. You don’t feel them when you wear them. They don’t ride down. They pass the squat test. They are super flattering. They are truly the most comfortable pair of leggings that I have ever put on my body.
That said, I just found out that they have biker shortssss, toooo!!!! The biker shorts come in two different inseams (here's the six-inch inseam version) and many different colors, and I will be adding these to my wardrobe because I’ve been wanting something like this for yoga. Not to mention, they are a staple that I will wear for plenty of other things. I can promise you that I have already gotten my money’s worth from all of the other pairs that I own.
F I V E – Kate Spade NY
x Target
Target dropped a Kate Spade line a couple of weeks ago, and while most of the apparel is gone, there are still a few things that are fully stocked or partially stocked, and I thought I’d share a few of my favorites today.
The only item I purchased was this tank – it sold out quickly online, but my local store just happened to have them in stock a week later when I went on a random Target run to grab stuff for Easter. Target.com continues to get stock back in various sizes now that people are starting to send in returns, so if you had your heart set on this top, keep an eye on it online. I love it! The style is flattering for all body styles, it’s fully lined, it’s VERY well-made (I would expect nothing less from Kate Spade), and it’s soooo cute.
This dress is darling
and fully stocked online…
These throw pillows are AMAZING because they are beaded!
They had them in my local store (and they’re still stocked online) and
it took everything I had not to purchase one or two or SIX and put them all
over the house. Haha. I don’t need any more throw pillows, though,
so I stood strong, and I didn’t grab any even though I’m a sucker for black and
white polka dots.
I also looooveeee
this headband. It comes in a few
different colors, too. I wanted to get
one for Olivia’s Easter basket, but it wasn’t going to deliver on time because I
waited too long to place the order.
There’s also a
ton of unique items for the home that are still available online, so if you’re looking
for home décor or a really cute gift idea, you can browse the whole line
here.
