Olivia is obsessed with the movie Wicked (as so many are right now), so there was no hesitation when I asked her what kind of Valentines she wanted to hand out in class this year. I searched high and low for some Wicked-themed Valentines, and there weren’t any – a missed opportunity for the brand! – so I turned to Etsy as I always do, and it didn’t disappoint.
We ended up grabbing these beautiful labels, and then we ran with it. Today I’m sharing everything we used to put together the cutest little batch of Valentines yet! Everything is pink and green, of course! ;o)
Wicked themed labels – these can be personalized with your child’s name!
Sour Patch Kids Watermelons (because they’re pink and green, of course!)
Assembly
The labels we purchased come in quantities of 12, 24, or 36, and they shipped and delivered SUPER fast. The labels are excellent quality, the colors are vibrant, and they are beautiful in person. Right now, as I’m typing this (Tuesday afternoon), they will still deliver well before Valentine’s Day so it’s not too late to grab these for 2025!
To assemble, we affixed one label near the bottom of each cello bag. It's important to put it near the bottom so it doesn't get in the way when you tie them closed. We then poured 10-15 of the Sour Patch Kids Watermelons in each bag, and then we tied all of the bags closed with baker’s twine (about 12 inches per color per bag). We used one pink and white string and one green and white string on each bag, and they turned out SO CUTE. We also had a ton of baker's twine leftover, so I'll be able to use those for gift-wrapping and/or other projects/crafts in the future!
Since Olivia has 34 Valentines to send out this year, we grabbed this bulk bag of Sour Patch Kids Watermelons (who even knew they sold them in bulk like this?!) so this saved us a ton of money. This one 5 lb. bag was enough to fill all 34 Valentine bags. If your child only has to hand out a few Valentines, then it would be cheaper just to buy one or two of the smaller bags or even a few of the individual movie theater sized boxes. Or you could just buy the bulk-sized bag and save the leftovers for yourself. ;o)
These are so cute and creative!
