Happy Friday, y’all! This Friday is extra special because as of 3 PM we are officially on Thanksgiving break, and I couldn’t be more excited!!!! We have a nice, long stretch with nine glorious days off, and I am looking forward to watching lots of Christmas movies, hanging with friends and family, celebrating Thanksgiving, watching tons of college football, and just being COZY with my people. This is one of my favorite weeks of the whole year, and I’m just so excited that it’s here. Honestly, it arrived in the blink of an eye, and I know it’ll be over in the blink of an eye, too, so I’m planning on soaking up every second of the late nights, twinkle lights, and sleeping in that I can.
Are y’all ready for some favorites? This week is so, so good, y’all! So much goodness here!
O N E – Bow Heels
Y’all!!!! Target is bringing the fire this holiday season with some of the most gorgeous shoes I have ever seen! These bow heels come in three colors – red, black, and GOLD – and they have a memory foam insole making them legitimately comfortable. They have a three-inch heel, so they’re not uncomfortably tall, and they are just STUNNING in person. I ordered one in every color when they were on sale a couple of months ago because I knew I wanted a pair, but I wasn’t sure which color, and I have been stressing out over which color to keep ever since then. Black is the most practical as they’ll go with anything, and gold is also a good neutral, too. But y’all, the red ones are just *chef’s kiss*. I have never seen such high-end shoes for such a great price, and I have worn these all around my house, and I can tell you first-hand that they are truly so comfortable. If you’re looking for a pair of fabulous holiday shoes, these are perfection, and they are true-to-size.
Now the question of the day is… which color should I keep?!
T W O – THE BEST
Artificial Tree
Brian and I bought this artificial tree last year, and I cannot tell you how excited I was for him to just pull it out of the box, set it in the stand, and it was DONE. This tree is gorgeous… it’s so realistic that it looks just like every real tree we’ve ever had in the past. It’s 7.5 feet tall, it has 6,052 tips so it is as full as they come, and it’s loaded with 1,200 coloring-changing lights. All of the tree tips fall in the “most realistic” category, and they look real even when you inspect them up close. The tree has “quick connect” which means that the sections connect electrically as you put the tree together, and the tree also has memory wire, so all of the branches fall into place perfectly… there is zero fluffing required. You literally pull it out of the box, put the bottom layer into the stand, put the middle section into the bottom section, and then put the top section into the middle section and you’re done. Setup takes about 3-5 minutes and it’s ready to decorate.
I love that we can have a Christmas tree up so early now, and I love even more that it looks exactly like all of the real trees we’ve ever had in the past. I’ve wanted an artificial tree for years, but I just couldn’t find one that was up to my standards, and I’m SO grateful that I found this one because it’s just perfect, y’all.
These sell out long before Christmas every year, and they have not gone on sale
for Black Friday or Cyber Monday for the last two years (since I started eyeing
it), so if you’re in the market for an artificial tree and you want to get your
hands on this one for this year, you should purchase it sooner than later.
T H R E E – Mrs. Meyers
Peppermint Collection is Back in Stock!
Mrs. Meyers Peppermint is back in stock! EEK!! It’s my all-time favorite Mrs. Meyers scent, and I love that the soaps are clean – they’re paraben free, dye free, phthalate free, and cruelty free, and they’re scented with essential oils. They also contain olive oil and aloe vera, so they don’t dry your hands out. The peppermint scent comes in a hand soap, a dish soap, an all-purpose cleaner, and a candle and all of them smell so yummy. I already loaded up for the season, but I wanted to put this PSA out there for all of you that it’s back in stock because so many of you have bought these from my links in the past.
F O U R – Target Wondershop
Margarita Ornament
I bought this exact ornament several years ago for my “favorite things” tree, and last year when I was pulling all of the ornaments out, I accidentally broke it and I was so sad. I stalked our local Target and checked Target.com constantly last year hoping to find a replacement for it, but I never saw it. Well, this year, it’s back in stock online and I couldn’t grab it fast enough! It’s only $5, but it’s so nice that it looks like a much more expensive ornament. It would make a great gift for a girls’ ornament exchange! I am so happy I was able to replace mine, so this has definitely been a favorite from this week!
F I V E – This Sweet
Sentiment
This post is actually from a few weeks ago, but it has stuck with me. One of my girlfriends saw this sentiment online and she popped it in our girlfriend group chat, and we had the sweetest conversation about it.
While we all ultimately make our own decisions and have our own opinions, we are also shaped and molded by those who we love and have loved throughout the years. There are so many things that I still love and do today that I wouldn’t love or do if certain people hadn’t come into my life at some point… even those who are no longer part of my life anymore…
Watermelons and cherries are one of the first things I draw when I sit down to doodle or paint with the kids because my friend Jeannine and I used to draw them all over our notes that we passed back-and-forth in high school. I never eat a Snickers ice cream bar or hear the song A Whole New World without thinking of my friend, Jen. Every September, I listen to a 90's R&B play list because two friends I made on my first night working at the movie theater introduced me to that genre when I was 16, and even though I’m not close with either of them anymore, certain songs take me straight back to 1998 and all of the fun times we had together. I'll always have a sunroof in every vehicle I buy because one of my friends from the movie theater had one and I loved cruising with it open so much. I’ll never smell certain scents without thinking of different girlfriends and different boys I dated long ago. I'll never go to Athens, GA or Vegas without thinking about when Brian and I first started dating. I keep twinkle lights up year-round and I always throw salt over my left shoulder if I spill any on the table because of my Momma, and I’ll never sit down to draw or paint without thinking of my Daddy. I could go on and on and on, and I just think this sentiment is such a beautiful thing. <3
The teeth grinding, though... make it stop! |
How I feel after the last few weeks... |
Wow 9 days?! That's fabulous I don't think we've ever had more than just the day before off for Thanksgiving so at most we get 5 days. In fact I'm calling Alec later today to see what time Tuesdays classes end so I can figure out if I'm picking him up late on Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. I'm glad we don't have far to travel to get him so we should still have time to pull together some homemade bread or rolls on Wed. either way.
ReplyDeleteYES! It's so wonderful. We used to only get off a 1/2 day on Wednesday and then have Thursday and Friday off when I attended school there, but the last 10 years that Jacob's been there they've gotten the whole week off and WE LOVE IT.
DeleteThat's a long break! My kids have school Monday and Tuesday. But then we have them miss school after the weekend because traveling back Sunday is too expensive! If you bought those shoes a few months ago and haven't returned them yet, you might as well keep all three pairs. lol.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I bet Sunday travel is off the charts expensive! And LOL, I like the way you think!
DeleteYay for that long break! I got the heels in red and love them. That BOW!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. We don't have that but lately, we have been celebrating Friendsgiving. I love those bow heels so much! Happy to come across your blog.

I think schools were genius when they started giving the whole week off! It is such a nice break, when everyone needs it most. I love the sentiment too. Hope you have a great weekend. (PS I'd go for the red shoes!)
ReplyDeleteYay to the Thanksgiving break! It sounds like you have some great plans!
ReplyDeleteThose bow heels are so pretty! I think I would be tempted to buy the red one's too. Your tree sounds and looks amazing!
