What I Ordered from Amazon in July 2024

*This post contains affiliate links.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

After several light months of Amazon purchases, July was heavy, and for many reasons… a) it was Prime Day, so I purchased several items that I’d had on my wish list while they were on sale, b) I started Christmas shopping, c) the kids made several purchases with their own money, and d) we needed several refills for products we use daily.

Settle in, friends… this one is going to be a long one!

Tennis Skirt

I have this tennis skirt in pink and green, so when it went on super sale for Prime Day, I grabbed it in white and black.  The white one ended up being defective (a weird lumpy seam in the front), so I had to send it back, but the black one was a keeper.  If you haven’t seen my reviews for these, they are just fantastic.  The quality is great, they have built-in shorts, they have a back zipper pocket that can hold your phone or keys, they’re comfy, and they hold up beautifully in the wash.  They come in tons of colors, and I wear them all summer for errands and working out.  I recommend sizing up one size!  And you can bet I’ll be putting the white one back on my wish list since the one I received was defective.

White Sweater

The sweetheart neckline, the unique seam down the front, the bell sleeves that taper at the wrists… I love this sweater!!  This was another Prime Day purchase, and I’m so glad I got it because it is great!  The fabric is so soft, the sweater is great quality, and the fit is super flattering.  I’m 5’5” and it hits just below my belly button in the front, so my skin shouldn’t show with high-waisted jeans, and it’s going to be the perfect transitional top for fall!  It also comes in many colors.

Ribbed Tanks

This was another Prime Day purchase… I think I got them for just $9 each!  The quality of these is excellent.  They’re thick, the fabric is so nice, and they are so classy!  The thickness, the ribbed texture, and the white trim make them so much nicer than a standard tank.  A quick note, when you pull these out of the package, they look incredibly small, but they have SO MUCH STRETCH so my true size (small) ended up being perfect even though it looked like it was going to be better suited for Olivia at first.  Haha.

Amazon Basics Joggers

I have had these on my wish list for years, so when they went on sale for just $8 on Prime Day, I snatched them up as fast as I could.  These joggers are great!  They are thin and breathable for summer, the fabric is soooo soft, they have an adjustable drawstring waistband, and they come in tons of colors and patterns… seriously, like, 50, maybe??  They are officially the most comfortable joggers I own!  They aren’t super flattering in the butt area, but honestly, most joggers aren’t.

Brown Skirt

I had this skirt on my wish list for a while, so when it went on super sale, I decided to try it.  It is so cute, and it was hard to part with, but ultimately, I decided I didn’t need another brown skirt since I already have two.

One Shoulder Dress

I have had this dress on my wish list for a while as well, so again, I decided to try it while it was on sale.  While I actually really loved it, I ultimately decided to send it back because there were other items that I liked better (the ones above), and I just didn’t want to spend too much money on clothes.

Gold Bow Heels

These were another item that have been on my wish list forever, so I decided to try them out while they were on sale.  I LOVED them.  They fit perfectly (true-to-size) and they were actually so, so comfortable, but ultimately, I decided to send them back because I knew I wouldn’t wear them enough to justify the price.  The quality was also just average.  If you need a fancy shoe, though, these are so.dang.cute.  They also come in various other colors as well as various heel height options.  I may eventually put them back on my wish list!  Haha.

Gold Bow Flats

Again, I had these on my wish list, so I decided to give them a whirl while they were on sale, and while I liked them a lot (again, SO CUTE), I just didn’t think I’d wear them enough to justify keeping them.  And again, I decided that I liked too many other items (the ones at the beginning of the post) more, and I didn’t want to spend more money.

Space-Saving Shorts/Skirts Organizers

I purchased these before Prime Day, and I LOVE them.  The side of my closet that holds all of my dresses, pants, skirts, and shorts was stuffed to the brim, but I wasn’t willing to give up anything else as I had just cleaned out my closet.  There was tons of vertical space being wasted under the shorts and skirts, so these space-saving hangers saved the day!

Each hanger holds six pairs of shorts or skirts (you could even use them for pants) and they hang vertically to save horizontal space in your closet.  The clips slide back and forth on the hangers so you can space them however you need to, and the best part is that you can attach the hangers to other hangers to make them longer to save even more horizontal space.

I was worried initially that it would be too hard to get the shorts and skirts off of the clips and back on the clips since they’re stacked on top of each other, but it hasn’t been an issue at all!  They were the perfect solution to my closet problem.

Desktop Vacuum

This is another item that’s been on my list forever, so I bought it on Prime Day.  I was very skeptical when I first took it out of the box, but y’all, it works so well!  I’m keeping it in my office to clean up crumbs after I eat since I eat so much at my desk.  It also comes with a little attachment that you can use to clean out your keyboard.  I am very pleasantly surprised with how well it cleans!  And it’s so cute that it doesn’t even need to be hidden away.  It’s just sitting out with my stapler and my tape dispenser so I can grab it easily when I need it.  It comes in a battery-operated version and a rechargeable version, but I didn’t want to have to keep up with yet another item to charge, so I grabbed the battery-operated version.  Haha.

Diamond Dazzle Stik

I’ve used this Diamond Dazzle Stik for years to clean my wedding rings and it is incredible.  I wear my wedding rings 24/7, so they get really gross from soap, lotion, sunscreen, etc. and this pen cleans them right up and makes them look brand new every single time.  It’s truly amazing!

Scalloped Tray

This scalloped tray is gorgeous!!!!  I’ve been wanting to restyle the table in our dining room for years, so I grabbed this when it went on sale!

Dance/Carryon Bag

Olivia desperately needed a new dance bag for the upcoming dance season.  She has been using the same bag for six years, and the one she was using was the original teeny tiny bag that we bought for her when she was four, so it barely held a pair of ballet and tap shoes.

She picked out this duffle bag, and it’s so great!  It’s very spacious – spacious enough to hold her ballet shoes, tap shoes, jazz shoes, lyrical shoes, and hip-hop shoes + her leotard, and a bag for hair stuff, and there’s plenty of room to spare.  It has a side shoe pocket that holds her “street shoes” so they can stay separate from all of her dance stuff (so they won’t get anything dirty), and it has several other zipper/non-zipper pockets including a pocket on the other side that will hold her Stanley Cup.  It also has a panel of fabric across the back that allows it to slide over the handle of any rolling suitcase, so it can be used as a personal item on a flight!  It comes in many different colors and patterns, too!  This one is a big winner and Olivia is ecstatic about it!

Ballet Shoes

These are the ballet shoes that we purchase for Olivia every year.  She had outgrown her others, and they had been sprayed a different color for her recital back in May, so it was time for a new pair for the new year!

Convertible Dance Tights

I have mentioned these tights a bajillion times here on the blog over the years because they’re the only ones we use for Olivia.  Since she takes several classes that require full tights (over the toes) and a class that requires tights that do not cover the toes, these convertible tights are perfect because she doesn’t have to change in between classes.  These tights are also the highest quality and they last for a really long time (and Olivia is pretty rough on everything, so that’s really saying something).  They went on sale for Prime Day so I grabbed some more for the new year.

Hair and Face Patch Bags

I bought this set of two bags for Olivia for Christmas as she’s been needing something to store her hair accessories and makeup in for all of her recitals.  I am so pleased with the quality of these bags, y’all… they are SO NICE.  They are sturdy, the zippers are smooth and well-made, and the patches are excellent quality, and they’re attached nicely… I was worried that the letters might be cheap and fall off, but these are boutique quality bags!

Both of the bags are very large… large enough to fit a paddle-sized Wet brush with plenty of room to spare for all of Olivia’s bun donuts, bobbi pins, hair spray, and everything else she needs to bring to her recitals.

They’re also the cutest things ever, and I love that they’re clear so you can see exactly what’s in them.  If you’re looking for a cute gift for any tween or teen, these would be a great idea!

Amazon Basics Carryon Suitcase

Jacob and Olivia were both in need of new luggage, so we bought this carryon suitcase while it was on sale for Prime Day.  This suitcase is excellent quality, it has the spinner wheels that spin 360 degrees, it has an expandable handle, and it’s the perfect size to carry on because it fits in the overhead compartments.  She’ll be able to use this for the first time reeeeaaaalllly soon, too, because we’re heading somewhere really fun for fall break this year!

Stanley Bow Toppers

Was this a completely unnecessary purchase?  Yep.  Are they super cute, though?  Yep.  Are they going to make the cutest stocking stuffers for Olivia at Christmas?  For sure.  Oh, and I got the 3-pack for just $4.99 since they were on sale for Prime Day!

Cell Phone Christmas Ornament

Every year, our elf brings a new Christmas ornament for each family member, and it typically has something to do with a significant event that happened during the year.  We went to Disney this year, but we’ve already done Disney trip ornaments, Jacob played in his first piano recital, but he already got the piano ornament the year he started playing piano, and he plays golf, but he already got a golf ornament the year he started that, soooo… I thought this cell phone Christmas ornament would be perfect for him this year since he got his first phone for his birthday.  I think he’s still in disbelief that he has one!

This ornament is just darling, and so nice… everything you’d expect from the Old World Christmas brand!  It’s mouth-blown and hand-painted, so it’ll make for a really unique and fun piece to hang on our tree for years to come!

Rainbow Loom Glitter Refill Pack

These are the bands that Olivia uses to make all of her bracelets, so I bought this refill pack for her for Christmas.  She is going to love these glittery ones!

Glow-in-the-Dark Stars

These are the OG glow-in-the-dark stars like we had in the 90’s!!  I had them in my bedroom growing up and I always loved them, so I bought them as stocking stuffers for our kiddos for Christmas.  And they were more than half off for Prime Day!  :o)

Rainbow Loom Pastels Set

Olivia purchased this set with her own money, and she has been using it nonstop.  The colors of the bands are my favorites yet!

Rainbow Loom Black Bands Refill

Olivia ran out of black bands, so she purchased these with her own money.

Black Number Beads

I wanted to make a few bracelets with Bible verses on them, but I didn’t have any black numbers, so I bought this pack.  The beads are perfect!

Wooden Piano Puzzle

Jacob wanted to buy this wooden piano puzzle with his own money, and it is amazing!  The puzzle comes in a ton of pieces that you have to put together, and when you’re done, you have a perfect wooden piano that opens and closes.  When you turn the crank, it plays music and the keys move up and down like someone is playing it.  It is amazing!!

This brand (ROKR) has a huge line of these puzzles including a globe (that lights up), a cello, a marble run, a merry go round, a record player, a printing press, a pinball machine, an old locomotive, a stagecoach, and so very many more.  I just cannot get over these!  They are so great!  They would make excellent gifts.

Bead Kit

These bead kits went on SUUUUPER sale for Prime Day, so I grabbed two of them to give as birthday party gifts.  We’ll pair them with a gift card, and they’ll make for the sweetest gifts!

Pocket Prayers for Teachers

I purchased this devotional for a teacher friend of mine who moved to our school this year.  This small book is perfect to sit on teacher’s desk, and she can pull it out each morning to start the day off on the right foot.  I’ve always loved Max Lucado, and fun fact, the other author, Jenny Hale, is the wife of one of my friends!  I took a little peek at the book before I gifted it, and it is beautiful and well written!  It's the perfect, affordable back-to-school teacher gift!

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – The Complete Official Guide: Collector’s Edition

Jacob is obsessssed with this video game, so this book was on his birthday list.  This was one of the gifts we gave him, and it would be perfect for any TOTK fan.

Gold Bond Age Renew Neck & Chest Firming Cream

I have been using this for nearly a couple of years now, and it has made a huge difference in the appearance of the skin on my chest and neck.  My skin on my chest and neck is rough and uneven compared to the rest of my body due to years of exposure to the sun (and me never thinking to put sunscreen there every day + constantly forgetting to moisturize that area), and this cream has worked wonders for smoothing it out.  I have also noticed that the skin on my neck does seem to have a more tightened appearance.  The key is to use this product consistently, though.  I put it on every single night before bed to give it time to soak in really well and do its thing while I sleep.  Amazon always has the best price even when it’s not on sale.  This was also one of the most purchased items from Prime Day that all of you purchased through my links!

Edison Bulbs

Well, I bought these for our new light fixture in our laundry room and they were a big fail because the light is the coldest, ugliest light ever… looks like a hospital.  Haha.  So these were returned!  I did love the shape and aesthetic of the bulbs, so I’ll have to find a warmer version!

Mini Ziploc Bags

Olivia wanted these to store her slime creations, so she bought them with her own money.

Neutrogena Loose Powder

This is the powder that I use, so when it went on super sale for Prime Day, I grabbed two of them.  Little did I know, each one was a pack of two, so I got FOUR of them for DIRT CHEAP.  This will last me years.  Haha.

Rainbow Light Multi-Vitamins

These are the vitamins I take daily, and I was in need of a refill!

Dentastix

Maui was in need of a refill of her nightly treats!

Turmeric

And I was in need of a refill of the turmeric that I take daily.  This is the stuff of miracles.  You can read more about all of the reasons I love it here.

Whew!!!!

  2. If I had added all of Alec's dorm purchases my list would have been crazy long too but those Prime days were great for snapping up deals on those things I was going to need to buy anyway! I was informed we need one more piece of luggage for our Christmas trip but I'm hoping to hold off until black Friday/cyber Monday deals.
