The Best Affordable Sweater Dresses

‘Tis the season for… sweater dresses!  I love a good sweater dress!  They have been a staple in my closet for over 20 years and they never go out of style.  When I worked at my corporate job that's pretty much all I wore during the winter.  I still wear a few that I’ve had since the early 2000s, and they’re every bit as good today as they were 20 years ago!

Today I’m going to share a few of my favorites… some of these I own, and some of them are on my wish list…

This one is currently my favorite one in my closet.  It’s thick and soft and warm, it’s so flattering, and the puff sleeves really take it up a notch.  It comes in tons of colors, and the quality is outstanding.  It’s true-to-size, and while it looks really short on the model, it’s not nearly as short in person.  For reference, I’m 5’5” and mine hits about 4-5 inches above the knee.  I feel comfortable wearing this one to church because it’s not too short at all.  It's currently 37% off with an additional 5% off coupon that you can clip.

 

I wore this one last year for Christmas Mass, and although, it’s technically not a sweater dress (the fabric is a little different), I would put it in that category as it’s thick and wears like a sweater dress.  I love the front sash, and it allows you to cinch it in or leave it out as much as you’d like to get the exact fit you want.  This one is also true-to-size, and it comes in a ton of other colors.  This one is currently on sale for only $22.39 and it comes in TONS of colors!!!!

 

This one is great if you’re looking for a less-fitted sweater dress.  It’s not fitted at all, but you can wear a belt with it if you want to cinch it in at the waist.  The pattern on this one is classic, and it comes in several different color combos.  It’s SUPER soft, too.  It’s relatively true-to-size (I have it in a small), but if you’re looking for a more fitted look, you could definitely size down one size.  I could easily wear an XS in this one.  This one is currently 34% off for Black Friday, too!

 

This one is great for fall because the fabric is on the thinner side, and it’s breathable so it doesn’t make you overly warm.  The fit is great, and it comes in tons of colors.  I love this one so much I have it in two colors.  I got a great deal on them one year during the Amazon Prime Day sale, and I think I got them for, like, $15 each.  Insane!  It’s true-to-size and it's currently on sale for 28% off.

 

This sweater dress has been on my wish list for a while… I love the chunky knit and the chunky sleeves and the chunky fabric… everything about it!  It looks like it would be pretty short, but it would look so cute with thick tights or leggings and a pair of tall boots.  It's currently 26% off.

 

I love the simplicity of this sweater dress… the silhouette is different than most sweater dresses, and it’s so feminine!  This is another one that has been on my wish list for a while, and I think it would be perfect for Christmas.  This one is currently on sale for 57% off for Black Friday!

 

I love the asymmetrical neck on this sweater dress, and I loooove this unique color!  Most sweater dresses are various shades of black, brown, blue, or white, so I love that this one is offered in such a unique smoky purple.  It also comes in many other colors if you don’t like purple.  I don’t own this one so I can’t speak about the sizing, but it’s on my list as well.  It's also on sale for Black Friday at 49% off.
