Our girl is going to be NINE on Saturday, y’all! I can’t believe we’re only a year away from our baby being in double digits. Sigh. It truly goes by way too fast.
Per usual, I interviewed her last weekend to ask her the same questions that I ask her every year right before her birthday, and I know she’ll treasure being able to look back on these one day. Here’s what she had to say this year, and as always, my commentary is in parentheses.
1.
What
is your favorite toy? “Uhhhh, that’s a
hard one. Maybe… Sheepie?”
2.
What
is your favorite stuffed animal? “Sheepie!!!! Every year I have to say that.”
3.
What
is your favorite game? “Hmmmm… maybe
Exploding Kittens.” (That’s a great one
for the whole family if you’ve never played!)
4.
What
is your favorite sport? “Dance. Of course!”
(She’s taking five classes this year – ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and
musical theatre.)
5.
What
is your favorite book? “Uhhhh, Magic
Fairies? It’s a book about
fairies.” (This is the one she’s
currently reading for AR, so I’m sure it’s fresh in her mind.)
6.
What
is your favorite TV show? “Bluey.” (She said Gabbie’s Dollhouse for the last two
years, so we have a new first place show!
And we all love Bluey. It is the
absolute cutest.)
7.
What
is your favorite movie? “Hmmmm… oh yeah,
Avatar!” (Brian just let her watch it
for the first time recently and she did declare it her favorite movie of
all-time, which is just so weird to me.
Haha. Anybody else not an Avatar
fan like me?!)
8.
What
is your favorite song? “Ohhhh, mmmm,
that’s a hard one.” Me: “You can name
more than one if you want.” Olivia:
“Taylor Swift album… the new one.”
9.
What
is your favorite band or singer? “Taylor
Swift.” (No hesitation whatsoever, and
third year running!) And then she added,
“Definitely not Dave Matthews Band,” to troll me. (Eye roll.
Hahahaha.)
10. What is your favorite holiday? “Christmassss!!!!”
11. What is your favorite season? “Hmmmm… summer! Because of summer camp and going to the
pool!” (That’s new! In the past she’s always said winter because
Christmas and her birthday are in winter.)
12. What is your favorite color? “Teal.”
(That is very specific and it’s news to me. Lol.)
13. What is your favorite animal? “Hmmmm, giraffe.”
14. What is your favorite shirt? “Um, my Betsy Ross one? It’s very comfy and I like it. Because of the ruffly sleeves.” (She has to be Betsy Ross for their school’s
Biography Wax Museum later this month, and her dress just arrived in the mail
yesterday. She’s been wearing it nonstop
ever since. Haha.)
15. What is your favorite fruit? “Oh.
Uh. Probably pineapple or
raspberries.” (Yep, still the only two
fruits she really eats. Although, she’ll
eat pears, too.)
16. What is your favorite vegetable? “Um, either green beans or broccoli. I don’t like potatoes.” (Yep, green beans and broccoli for a few
years running now, I believe.)
17. What is your favorite snack? “ZBar.
Known as Clif Bar.” (She does
love those ZBars!)
18. What is your favorite treat? “Bubblegum!
And ice cream. And donuts. Yeah, I like a lot.” (This is the fifth year in a row that she’s
said bubblegum!! So funny how some
things never change.)
19. What is your favorite drink? “Water.
Hehe. Nothing else. I don’t like anything else.” (This is true. She literally only drinks water. That’s it.
For years. Nothing else.)
20. What is your favorite thing to eat for
dinner? “Hmmmm… hot dogs and mac n
cheese! And <our favorite local
pub> and PB&J!” (Second year in a
row to say hot dogs and mac n cheese… and she’s referring to the Kraft kind…
nothing fancy.)
21. What is your favorite restaurant? “<says the name of our favorite local pub
down the street from church again>” and then also gives honorable mention to
our favorite local BBQ place. (I don’t
say the names for privacy reason, and the only reason she chooses those two
restaurants is because they both have PB&J.
Lol.)
22. Who is your best friend? “Cami and Aubrey.”
23. What makes you feel happy? “God, my family, and Maui. And Jesus.
Which is basically the same person.
And my friends. Hehe.”
24. What makes you feel sad? “Mmmm… hmmm… uhhhh… I don’t know what makes
me sad. Maybe like getting in trouble?” (Y’all, this girl is so very rarely sad, so she
always struggles to come up with an answer for this.)
25. What are you afraid of? “Ghosts.”
(That’s exactly what she said last year.)
26. What are you thankful for? “My family, God, Jesus, and nature. And animals.
I love animals.”
27. What are you really good at? “Dancing and flexibility. And art!!”
And modeling my room! Hehe. But I’m not good at tidying. Hahahaha.
And I’m good at video games.” (When
she says, “modeling my room” she’s referring to decorating her room… she’s
really been in to decorating her room lately which basically just means that
she’s moving items around and hanging up blankets and drawing and cutting out
things to hang up in various places.)
28. What is your best memory? “Hmmmm… so, like, best means good,
right?” Me: “Yes.” Olivia: “I don’t
really even remember this, but being a baby?”
Me: “If you don’t remember it, it’s not really a memory, though.” Olivia: “Okay then, watching family
videos? Especially funny ones like when
Jacob goes YAAAA and does those funny things with his arms.” Me: “So you like doing that more than going
to New York City?” Olivia: “Ahhhh New
York City and Disney World and the beach and the mountains and all that stuff!!!! And it snowing!!” (Apparently, I just needed to jog her
memory. Haha.)
29. What do you want to be when you grow
up? “A veterinarian, a teacher, and a
professional dancer.” (#GOALS)
30. If you could have one wish, what would
it be? “Oh, that’s a hard one. To make everybody be kind and make the world
be better. And to talk to animals!!!!” (Hahahaha if that isn’t the most Olivia thing
to say then I don’t know what is!)
Happy almost ninth
birthday to my best girl! We love you so
very much!
And happy birthday to Brian TODAY! We are so excited to celebrate you! Sorry Olivia's birthday interview hijacked your day. Hahahaha.

DeleteI guess I need to start interviewing you every year just like I interview the kids. Hahahaha.
DeleteHappy birthday to both Brian and Olivia! I love his comment answers. Except maybe the leathery stuffed ET...sounds a little creepy...ha, ha!
ReplyDeleteI was not an Avatar fan either but my husband took me to see the newest one in theaters this weekend and I really enjoyed it-- maybe because so much of it takes place in and under the water? All the answers are so cute! My youngest only ever drinks water too and has for years and years. I hope they both had/have a wonderful birthday!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll have to check out the second one. Brian took Jacob to see it in the theater during Christmas break, but I didn't go!
DeleteWe loooove Bluey, too! I'm also not an Avatar fan, in fact, I just don't get it. LOL! I love all that Olivia wants to be when she grows up! Same, girl, same. Haha!
