Our Week - The One with Rivalry Week and Olivia’s Living Rosary

We spent a good portion of last week in the mountains, so today’s post is short and sweet as it’s only covering the first three days of the week before we left for vacay!

Monday, October 3

Last week was rivalry week at the kids’ school, so they had themed dress-up days.  Monday’s theme was “We’ve Got Class” and the kids had to dress “preppy” or “country club.”  Jacob wore a collared Georgia shirt and some khaki shorts and Olivia wore a pink polo shirt with a jean skirt.

Olivia’s ensemble gave me major Lindsay vibes circa 1990, so I had to dig these pictures out and show them to her.  ;o)

I dropped my two little preppy kids at school and then I hit the ground running.  I had a to-do list that was a mile long since we were getting ready to go out of town.

After school, Jacob and I dropped Olivia at dance, and then he and I headed to piano lessons.  After that, it was back home to get dinner on the table, and then when B and Olivia got home from dance, we all had dinner together.

Olivia had homework to do after dinner, and then she and Jacob played for a bit before getting ready for bed.  While they got showered, I went for a two-mile run and then I squeezed in a quick arms workout before showering and getting in my PJs.

The four of us watched the newest episode of The Amazing Race before sending the kids to bed, and then B and I watched an episode of Vampire Diaries.

Tuesday, October 4

Tuesday morning, I dropped the kids at school, dropped something off at the school office, dropped a library return, and then I headed home to work and pack.  My Instagram was down all day after the new update was rolled out, so I had zero access, but thankfully it was fixed by Wednesday morning for our trip.

After school, the kids and I ran home to do homework, and then Jacob and I dropped Olivia at dance and returned something to Spirit Halloween.  B picked Olivia up from dance, and then we all had dinner together, and then I squeezed in a walk/jog and an abs workout while the kids were getting ready for bed.  After showers, it was TV time and then bedtime.

Wednesday, October 5

Wednesday morning, I got the kids off to school, and then I headed straight home to finish up with the packing for our trip to the mountains.  Midway through the morning, I had to be back at the kids’ school to attend Olivia’s Living Rosary that her third grade class put on for the whole lower and middle school, and it was the sweetest thing.  Olivia was sad that she didn’t have a reading part, but I reminded her that she’d just read during Mass at Grandparent’s Day and that they have to give all of the other kids a chance to read, too.  It’s so funny that she loves getting up in front of people to do stuff like that.  Brian, Jacob, and I are the exact opposite… we all clam up when we have to get up in front of people.  Her love for the stage obviously skipped a generation because she totally gets that from my late grandfather, my Big Daddy.

Oh, and it was pajama day at school on Wednesday for Rivalry Week so that's why all of the little kiddos are in pajamas.  Haha.

After that was over, I hugged Olivia and then I chatted with a couple of parents and school staff, and then I was on my way back home so Brian and I could get the car loaded.  Once the car was loaded, B and I headed to get in the car line, and we were there right at noon since they had early release day for the beginning of fall break.

The rest of the week was spent in the mountains, and I’ll be recapping that separately, so stay tuned!

Happy Tuesday, y’all!
