Jacob will be ten this week, y’all. Ten. I can hardly believe it. As per usual, we did his birthday interview last week, and I asked him the same 30 questions he’s been answering every year since he was four. As always, my commentary is in parenthesis.
1. What is your favorite toy? “Legos.” (I have a feeling this will be his response to this question for years to come.)
2.
What
is your favorite stuffed animal? “Uh,
Curt.” (His stuffed wolf that he bought
as a souvenir from our mountain trip a couple of years ago… he named it “Curt”
after the waterfall in North Georgia that was named “Curtis.” I honestly didn’t even remember that a
waterfall was named Curtis.)
3.
What
is your favorite game? “Bingo Deluxe!” (Olivia just received that from a sweet
reader after she broke her arm and the kids have been loving it.)
4.
What
is your favorite sport? “My favorite
sport is baseball.”
5.
What
is your favorite book? “Minecraft Megatropolis.” (I’m not even sure which book he’s referring
to, but after three years in a row of him saying 5,000 Awesome Facts, we
finally got a different answer to this question.)
6.
What
is your favorite TV show? “Uh, Walk the
Prank.” (He and Olivia are obsessed with
this show.)
7.
What
is your favorite movie? “Um, that’s a
hard one… I don’t know.” Me: “What are
some of your favorites?” Jacob: “How to
Train Your Dragon, Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Me: “Anything else?” Jacob:
“Uhhhh… no.”
8.
What
is your favorite song? “Without You… the
version without the cuss words.”
(LOL. He and Olivia both love the
song Without You by Kid Leroi, but when I downloaded it, I downloaded the
explicit version, so now I have to turn down the volume every time he says a
bad word. They play the version with
Miley Cyrus on the radio all the time now, and the kids don’t like that version
either… they only like the one with him alone.)
9.
What
is your favorite band or singer? “Um…
this one is hard, too.” Olivia interjects
to troll me and say: “Do not say Dave Matthews Band!” (Then she gives me a mischievous look.) Me, ignoring her and continuing my conversation with Jacob (LOL):
“Who out there sings lots of songs that you like?” Jacob: “Ed Sheeran!” (Second year running he responded with
Ed. We love him. And now Olivia is belting out Bad Habits and
Jacob declares that his second favorite song.
Haha.)
10. What is your favorite holiday? “Christmas!
Oh wait, does birthday count?”
Me: “Your birthday isn’t technically a holiday…” Jacob: “Christmas then.”
11. What is your favorite season? “Spring.
And fall. Tied. Summer is too hot, and winter is too cold.” (I couldn’t agree more!!)
12. What is your favorite color? “Um, green and blue – tied.” (This has changed from red.)
13. What is your favorite animal? “Um, I don’t know, maybe a shark or a
snake. Or a dog.” (Eek!
He better not ever ask for a pet snake.
Lol.)
14. What is your favorite shirt? “Uh, Under Armour.” (Yep, always an athletic shirt. He hates all other shirts. Lol.)
15. What is your favorite fruit? “Fruit?
Uhhhh, watermelon.”
16. What is your favorite vegetable? “Carrot.”
(Even though he will only eat them prepared one way, and one way only –
cooked in the honey glazed sauce that I make.)
17. What is your favorite snack? “Rice Crispy Treat.”
18. What is your favorite treat? “My favorite treat… Jolly Ranchers and
Starburst… I like fruity stuff.”
19. What is your favorite drink? “Uh, orange juice.”
20. What is your favorite thing to eat for
dinner? “Breakfast.” Me: “You’d rather have breakfast than a
hamburger??” Jacob: “Oh, I didn’t know I
could choose something from a restaurant.”
Me: “Yes, any type of food!”
Jacob: “Hamburger!”
21. What is your favorite restaurant? “<Our favorite local pub near our
church> when we eat there. And when
we don’t eat there, Five Guys.” (I left
the name of the local restaurant out for privacy reasons, but yes, he loves
eating there and Five Guys because he loves burgers!)
22. Who is your best friend? “Jack and Julian.”
23. What makes you feel happy? “Friends and family and toys and Legos.”
24. What makes you feel sad? “Um, getting hurt. Dying.
The devil. Olivia being mean to
me. Punching me. Stuff like that.” (Lol, I’m not sure Olivia has ever punched
him… hit, yes, but punch, no.)
25. What are you afraid of? “Robbers.
Wild animals if I meet them.” Me:
“Anything else?” Jacob: “I think that’s
all.”
26. What are you thankful for? “Um, family, friends, house, and Maui. And toys.
And TV and video games.”
27. What are you really good at? “Art, architecture, um… science, math.” (He has been talking about wanting to be an
architect a bit lately, and he loves building things with his Legos so that’s
where that came from.)
28. What is your best memory? “Uh, Disney World!” (Third year running! I think it made an impression.)
29. What do you want to be when you grow
up? “Um, architect. Wait, do architects make a lot of
money?” Me: “Oh yes, I think they
do.” Jacob: “Then architect.” (Apparently, he only wants a job that makes
lots of money. Haha. Also, this is the first time in three years
that he hasn’t mentioned wanting to be a Disney employee and design rides for
them.)
30. If you could have one wish, what would
it be? “Uh, to have a trillion dollars!” (He’s got his mind on his money and his money
on his mind apparently.)
