What a weird, weird few days. I'm still processing all of what has been happening and I still feel like it hasn't quite hit home all of the events that have transpired over the last few days. I wrote the post below over a week ago before everything got crazy, but I couldn't let it go live without acknowledging the ongoing situation in our world right now.
Our schools have all been canceled until at least April 6, our spring break trip to Disney World was canceled as Disney World has closed, and our local stores have been running out of toilet paper, meat, bread, milk, and other items for a week now. Absolute craziness. I'll be discussing it more in the days and weeks to come, I'm sure, but in the meantime, I just wanted to pop in and say that I hope everyone is taking care of themselves and trying to enjoy the unexpected downtime as much as you can during such an uncertain time. Much love to all of you!

The name of the game for February was RAIN. Oh my goodness, so. much. rain. I know we’ve had rainy periods in the past, but I honestly can’t remember anything as extreme as what we’ve had these past couple of months. Our local weather people recently posted on Facebook that we’ve had almost three FEET of rain since December. I mean, come on! The first person to start talking about a drought this summer is going to get backhanded. Hahahaha.
Needless to say,
rain boots, duck boots, and pretty much any boots or tennis shoes were on my feet
the majority of the month. All of my
poor flats have been sitting in my closet, unworn, just waiting to be
loved.
That said, I’ve
been especially grateful for my Hunter boots these past two months. They keep my feet and legs nice and dry no
matter how flooded the roads and parking lots are and they have held up
tremendously well these last few years. I
consider them to be a great investment since they should last my whole life. Am I getting sick of wearing them? Absolutely.
But I’m glad I do have them for times like these when we’re right on
the verge of building an ark. Please, please
let us have lots of sunshine this spring!

I love that polka dot jacket! Much needed with all your rain, I am sure!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe all the rain you guys were getting! Hopefully, you'll have plenty of sunshine so the kiddos can get outdoors while we have to stay put at home <3

Hope the rain stays away so you can enjoy more vitamin D while your kids are out. At the moment ours have only been closed this week but I'm sure it will be longer given the new CDC guidelines. Now what to do with teens who don't understand social distancing other than being on their devices 24/7
ReplyDeleteI hope you're holding up ok, things have been crazy! My kids are home at least till April 20. My older kids are supposed to have online school but I'm quite unsure how Simon will actually get enough school work to keep him moving along towards finishing 4th grade! Anyway, about your post...love the Hello sweatshirt!
ReplyDeleteI would like to go back to February where everything was just slightly better! We are on almost lockdown here, only things open are grocery stores. Hoping good weather is here to stay! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteLove your heart sweaters, so cute! We’ve had a rainy few days...super gloomy. I hope things get better with this whole situation and things go back to normal soon.
ReplyDeleteGirl, me too. This whole situation is just crazy.
DeleteHopefully the rain is gone so you don't have to be quarantined to the house. Hopefully normalcy will return soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue gown you wore to the ball. So pretty. We have been having dreary weather all weekend here and it is still like that. Here is to hoping it gets better and we can be outside during this quarantine.
ReplyDeleteIt has done nothing but rain here too! I need sunshine!!
ReplyDeleteIt really has been so crazy. I feel like I am constantly on edge, wondering what is going to happen next. And now trying to home school. I just feel so out of wack. But your outfits are all really cute!
ReplyDeleteYes, girl. I feel you. My outfit post for next month is going to look a lot different... all leggings and pajamas! Haha.
