It seems like I haven’t done a regular ol’ Five on Friday post in ages, so I’m excited to be back at it today! Here are a few of my favorites from the week…
O N E – Reversible Dirty/Clean
Dishwasher Sign
I don’t know about y’all but
in our house we sometimes have issues remembering if the dishes in the
dishwasher are clean or dirty. Well, one
day when I was browsing at Target (as I do often), I saw this adorable reversible dirty/clean sign from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. It flips back and forth between dirty and
clean and it’s the perfect size to sit right there on the counter over the
dishwasher – so freaking cute and it’s going to make my life so much easier! At only $12.99 it was a no-brainer.
T W O – Desk Chair
I’m still putting the
finishing touches on my office refresh that I started early last year, and I’m
happy to say it’s nearly done. One thing
I needed desperately was a new desk chair, but it was hard to find something
that satisfied my champagne taste on our (craft) beer budget. I wanted something substantial that was high
quality with nice fabric, and I wanted it to have wheels and arm rests – a tall
order when you’re hoping to spend no more than $100 or so. I searched high and low for months and the
only chairs I could find that fit my qualifications were between $350 and
$800. I mean, $800 for a desk
chair?! Come on!!!!
Well, I came across this Amazon Basics chair just before Christmas and it looked like the perfect match
at a much lower price tag than the others.
I was a little skeptical but I should have known better since Amazon’s
private label items are so fab! B ended
up getting the chair for me as part of my Christmas gift and, y’all, it’s so nice!
It’s sturdy, the fabric beautiful
and well-made, the color is perfection, it has the required wheels and arm
rests, and best of all – it’s so comfortable!!
If you’re in the market for a nice office chair and you don’t want to
pay $800, I highly recommend this one.
It’s only $119.99!! It’s actually
on sale for $101.99 as I’m typing this, but I have a feeling it’ll be back to
full price by the time you’re reading this.
T H R E E – LEGO Friends
Brian also grabbed this special edition LEGO Friends Central Perk set for me for Christmas and it is
the cutest dang thing ever! I’m a
die-hard Friends fan and I love to collect some of the memorabilia so I’ve had
my eye on the LEGO set for a while. Jacob
is obsessed with LEGOs so the gift ended up being just as exciting for him as
it was for me because I let him put the whole thing together. It’s now displayed proudly in my office on my
book shelf and it’s just darling... there are so many fun details that Friends fans will truly appreciate!! I mean, LEGO Chandler has a sweater vest! It appears to be selling out at many places so I'm glad I got my hands on one before they're gone!
F O U R – Bounce Off
I’ve mentioned this game on
the blog several times because it’s a gift that we like to give at birthday
parties for the kids’ friends. The
concept sounds like so much fun and I’ve always heard people rave about it, so
we finally got one for our household and it lives up to the expectation! It’s kind of like Beer Pong, but for
kids. Haha. You have to bounce all of the balls into the
game board to create different patterns on the playing cards, and whoever makes
the pattern first with their balls wins.
Our whole family of four can play at the same time and it gets very
exciting!!
F I V E – When Less Becomes More
I already mentioned this book on the blog Wednesday, but I loved it so much that I thought it was worth
mentioning as one of my favorites from the week. In this book, Emily Ley (whom I adore) talks
about the busy culture and all of the damage it can do if we’re not
careful. She makes so many good points
that she has actually convinced me to start rewiring my brain to steer away
from the crazy busyness. I could go on and
on and on about this book and how much it has inspired me, but I’ll save it for
another post another time where I can get in depth about it. In the meantime, you can pick up your own
copy here.
I highly recommend it for
anyone and everyone… especially people who have kids! We all know life gets exponentially busier
once you have kids and then when they start extracurricular activities that’s
when the madness really begins. I told B
the other day that every single person in America needs to read this book… it’s
time for a serious change in this country!
I’ll be the first to start!

That LEGO Central Perk is like the CUTEST thing I have ever seen. I need it, lol. I hope you have the sweetest weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteYou have me wanting that desk chair! When I finally get to working on that area, that's at the top of the list. That LEGO set is adorable and so cute for you and all Friends lovers! I am hoping to dive into that book this weekend. I cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting the Central Perk set but I would not let my kids put it together, lol!
ReplyDeleteI loved WLBM back in November and I am trying to put it all in action.
ReplyDeleteYour new chair is adorable and your dishwasher sign reminds me of growing up. My mom had a clean/dirty magnet on the dishwasher that we always had to change when we helped out with the dishes.
We love Bounce Off too!! I need to check out that book - and our weather is so crazy! we have snow storms coming in tonight and I have to drive in it, wahhhh
ReplyDeleteI need to check out that game.
ReplyDeleteI saw that sign on Instagram & said I needed it myself!!!
the LSU meme is so funny because he looks just like Kevin. I still want to try Bounce Off as well. I love the office chair that you chose. It looks so much more expensive than it really is.
ReplyDeleteThat Friends Lego set is so cute!! I have often thought of getting a dishwasher sign but I know that they'd never really use it and as they're the ones in charge of our dishes we'll just keep asking 9 million times a day if the dishes in the dishwasher are clean or dirty.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha yeah, if you can't guarantee that everyone will use it then it would be pointless to even have one in the first place. I'm sure eventually our kids will be doing the dishes and they'll probably never remember to change the sign either. At least it looks cute, though! Haha.
DeleteOh that chair looks fantastic! I really need a new office chair!
ReplyDeleteOh I didn't know they made Friends lego, how fun! :) Your new office chair looks really good too! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having a lovely weekend :)
