And since I’m posting my bucket list so late in the season, some of these have actually already been accomplished!
O N E – Finish Transitioning from Dark Red and Gold
Decorations to Red, Green, and White Decorations… and Throw in a Little Bit of
Pink
Last year I started
transitioning our Christmas decorations from the dark red and gold that they’d
been for over a decade, and I’m hoping to complete the transition this year by
throwing in some pink. Last year I
removed all of the dark red and gold and replaced it with red, green, and
white, and this year I’m adding the final pink touches.
T W O – Ramp Up Office Christmas Décor
Since I spend nearly six
hours in my home office each day, it’s necessary to ramp up the décor in
there. ;o)
T H R E E – Angel Tree at Church
We purchase gifts for a
local little boy and little girl each Christmas through our church and we plan
to do it again this year.
F O U R – 3rd Annual North Pole Breakfast / Elf on
the Shelf
This has become one of the
kids’ most anticipated traditions and we are continuing it this year. The kids adore Cheek, our elf!
F I V E – Winterfest at our Local University
We had so much fun at this
event last year that the kids have asked about it periodically ever since.
S I X – See Frozen 2 in the Movie Theater
We have all waited for this
for months!
S E V E N – Celebrate 12 Years Married
B and I celebrate 12 years
together this Christmas season!
E I G H T – Breakfast with Santa
We’ve attended this event at
our church and school for years so it’s on the list yet again.
N I N E – Celebrate Maui ’s
Birthday
T E N – Christmas Tree Lighting Downtown
Another Christmas tradition!
E L E V E N – Watch Favorite Christmas Movies and
Find New Ones
We have a handful of
favorites that we watch every year and I’m hoping to find one or two new ones
to watch that we’ve never seen.
T W E L V E – Annual Girls’ Scarf & Ornament
Exchange
I’ve had this tradition with
my girlfriends for more than a decade and I’m excited to continue it for
another year.
T H I R T E E N – See The Nutcracker
We have tickets to see The
Nutcracker in Atlanta
later this month with the kids! However,
it falls during the busiest week of our whole month, so we’re debating selling
the tickets and skipping it this year. I
would love to make it work, but at the same time, I’ll be fine if we don’t. This one is a maybe…
F O U R T E E N – Fantasy in Lights
I’ve been going to Fantasy
in Lights in Callaway Gardens
since it opened when I was ten years old.
The tradition continues…
F I F T E E N – Drive Around and Look at Lights
This is a given.
S I X T E E N – Visit with the Mall Santa
Another given.
S E V E N T E E N – Indulge in Some Peppermint Mochas
The Peppermint Mocha is
probably my favorite coffee drink of all time… even more so than the Pumpkin
Spice Latte, so I have to get them while the gettings good!
E I G H T E E N – New Ornaments for Each of the Kids
We get each of our kids a
new ornament every Christmas!
N I N E T E E N – Send Out Christmas Cards
Another given… B and I have
been doing this since 2007 when we got married.
T W E N T Y – Christmas Eve Childrens’ Mass
One of my very favorite
hours of the entire year!
We have a place around here that seems to similar to your Fantasy in Lights...I am hoping to make it through but I am keeping my expectations low. Otherwise I will just have live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteSo many fun ideas, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHappy 12 years! And yessss to the North Pole breakfast. It was a lot of work, but Serena LOVED it and wondered why her elf didn't bring it again the next day - ha! <3
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
It looks like you've gotten a great start on your Christmas bucket list. Totally agree about the Nutcracker - it's hard to fit it all in!
ReplyDeleteLove this list, the perfect things to get in the Christmas spirit. Little Ginger would have been 10 this November too, I hope you a great celebration for Maui for us! Happy 12 years, that is such an accomplishment to go that long and stay so clearly in love. I think it is all your date nights, they keep it alive!
ReplyDeleteI sooo wanted to take my girls to see the Nutcracker this weekend, but we got home Friday evening. Next year. I can't wait to see how many you guys do!
