Is it me or did this week just fly by? After the never-ending week last week, this one felt like it zoomed by. We have a low-key weekend on tap and I can’t even tell you how excited that makes me feel after our busy weekend last weekend. It’s always so nice to get away and do something fun, but it’s also nice to have lots of downtime at home.
O N E – Thanksgiving/Christmas Dress
How cute is this dress, y’all?!
The puffy sleeves… the
ruffles…the babydoll silhouette!
It popped up as a lightning
deal the other day and I thought that it would be the absolute perfect dress for our fall family pictures that we'll be doing next month. In addition to that, it's also perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We dress up
every Thanksgiving because my father-in-law takes us to the country club for
Thanksgiving lunch, and I can’t think of a better thing to wear! It comes in plenty of colors and it also
comes in solids if you’re not into polka dots. It does run large, though, so size down. And if you still find it a little too billowy in the front, just wear it with a cute belt. I think that's what I'm going to do!
Seriously one of my favorite Amazon fashion purchases to date...

T W O – Red Dress Return
Remember that cute red dress
that I posted about last week and how excited I was to wear it to the Georgia
game? Well, did you see my Instagram
stories last weekend where I burned it with the iron?
Face palm.
Yep, my steamer wasn’t
working so I tried the iron on low as the tag recommended, and I’ll be danged
if it didn’t burn a hole straight through it.
So FYI, if you do get this dress, do not iron it! Haha.
Anyway, some good news on
that front… I requested an exchange on Amazon, I told them exactly what
transpired, and they are going to replace the dress for free!! THIS IS WHY I ADORE AMAZON! Hopefully they’re going to forward the info
to the third party who manufactures the dress because they need to change the
care instructions on the tag to say NO iron instead of low iron. Haha.
If the weather continues here
the way it has for the last couple of months then it’ll probably still be warm
enough in November to wear it to the Missouri
game. While that thought doesn’t make me
happy weather-wise, it would be nice to be able to wear the dress to a Georgia
game as originally intended. I guess we’ll
see!
T H R E E – Nail Color
It’s officially fall (and
not just fall in my heart) so that means the nail-painting has commenced! I tend to like dark colors on my nails the
best, so I don’t typically paint them as much during the spring and
summer. Now that fall is here I’m ready
for my festive dark nails!
One of my favorite shades of
all-time is OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark.
It’s technically a deep, dark shade of purple, but when you use two
coats of it as I always do, it almost looks black. It’s the perfect fall color, especially for
October and all things Halloween and I’m feeling like I have an extra pep in my
step now with my fancy nails. ;o)
F O U R – Georgia vs. Notre Dame Goodness
Yes, I’m going to talk about
the game one more time, but after today I promise to try to chill. Haha. It
was just so good.
This article popped up in my
Facebook feed earlier this week and it just gave me all the feels. We know several people who attended the Georgia vs. Notre Dame game in South
Bend two years ago and all of them raved about how welcoming and
wonderful the Notre Dame fans were to the Georgia fans. I had hoped and prayed that Georgia fans would do the same for them this
past weekend when they came to Athens ,
so when this article popped up it made me so proud to be a Dawg fan!
We have nothing but great
things to say about the Notre Dame fans who we encountered this weekend... they
were all just as friendly and kind as they could be! And for this member of the Notre Dame Board
of Trustees to do this, well that’s just about as classy as it gets! Winning is fantastic, but this is what it’s
all about, y’all – good sportsmanship and having a good time. Keep it classy, always. <3
F I V E – Disney Dining… Need Your Opinions!
So we’re coming up verrrry
quickly on our date to book all of our dining for our Disney trip in March and
I wanted to reach out to all of y’all for your opinions regarding table service
restaurants options in the four parks.
Last year, we ate at the
following:
It was incredible and
amazing and everything I’d dreamed of and we would 100% go back, but we want to
try to do something different just to experience everything MK has to
offer. We are considering Cinderella’s
Table (in the castle) and I wanted to ask y’all – have you been there
before? Is it worth it to go once? Or did you like Be Our Guest better? It’s going to be really hard to top Be Our Guest… I cried real tears when we were in
there because it was just like being in the movie. Beauty and the Beast has always been my
favorite Disney movie so it was like all of my nine year-old princess dreams
came true that day. It was truly magical.
Epcot – Akershus Royal Banquet
Hall
We liked Akershus because of
the character experience, but other than that it was just good… nothing to rave
about. We are definitely looking to eat
somewhere different in Epcot (and it doesn’t have to be character dining) so
give me all of your favorite table service restaurant suggestions there and WHY
you love them!
Animal Kingdom – Tusker House
Again, we loved Tusker House
because of the character experience, but again, the food and décor were just
average. We’re definitely looking to try
somewhere different in Animal Kingdom this year, too, (again, it doesn’t have
to be character dining) so tell me your favorite table service restaurant there
and why you love it!
Okay, we adored this
restaurant!! The whole atmosphere is set
to feel like you’re outside at an old timey drive-in theater and they play all
kinds of old sci-fi movies while you eat your dinner in old convertible
cars. We loved the food there
(especially the desserts!) and the kids loved this place so much that they are
requesting to go back. I think that’s what we’ll probably do, but
I’d love to hear other suggestions if anyone has any!
Now for some Friday funnies…
Not only am I a basic white girl, apparently I'm also a basic white dude, too! |

This meme reminded me of a story that happened this past week that I forget to include in my weekly recap. I went back and updated it, so you MUST go back and read the Thursday portion in this post. Jacob and I are both scarred for life. |
And ICYMI, this week’s blog
posts…
Happy Friday,
everybody!
*Linking up with A Little Bit of Everything for Friday Favorites and Polka-Dotty Place for High Five for Friday.
Ahhh I love what you said about Notre Dame fans. That’s why we love them, they are nicer than people realize. My husband was just on campus this week for conferences and was saying again what a class act they are and how proud we are to bleed Irish. I am over the moon Amazon will replace the dress. It’s so dang cute and they are truly amazing! So are YOU!! Happy Weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that top dress!!! You definitely need to share a picture of you in it. And I need to start watching for these lightning deals - you always get the best things! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress find! I just got a manicure with a deep plum color for fall. It's lighter than the one you shared!
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE all things Disney and have been multiple times this year. I have two boys ages 11 and 6 and a 1 year old little girl. Our favorite dining locations are: Chef Mickeys (Character interaction is great and average food but we like breakfast better here), Bon Voyage Breakfast at the Boardwalk (Amazing Food and you get to meet Ariel, Rapunzel, Prince Erik and Flynn). We also love Garden Grill for breakfast, Ohana for breakfast or dinner (Stitch is so cute at breakfast time), 50s Prime Time, Snow White Meal is also fun and has great food and drinks plus you get to see Grumpy and Dopey. My boys LOVE Hoop Dee Doo, it's one of our all time favorites and my 6 year old has requested it every time we go. We've never done Be Our Guest for dinner but have for breakfast and lunch. Have a blast and hope this helps!!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH for all of your recommendations!! I've heard great things about Chef Mickey's but I've never even heard of Bon Voyage Breakfast at the Boardwalk... I'll have to look into that one!
DeleteOh and we also love Via Napoli in Epcot for pizza. If you are on the Dining plan this is a great meal to pay OOP for. We usually can go and get a large pizza and it feeds our entire family for around $60 including tip. They have the best pizza!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard EXCELLENT things about Via Napoli... I'm going to look and see if they do quick service meals there because we might end up doing our lunch there that day!
DeleteThat's great new about your dress and I like you nail polish. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any character dining rec's for you. On the last trip, we only did one since the kids were older and we weren't on a meal plan. But I can't wait to see what you pick. Have a great weekend. Love the Amazon dress for fall!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I love talking Disney! We really only eat at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom because as you said it is truly magical. We tend to go there for lunch though and then somewhere else for dinner (Usually Ohana or some other restaurant at a MK resort). I have wanted to try Cinderella's Royal Table, but the reviews make it seem like the food is not that great and at that price I want my food to at least taste good. For Epcot, we love the San Angel Inn in the Mexico pavilion. The carne asada and guac are delicious and don't get me started on how amazing the margaritas are! If you can splurge Le Cellier has one of the best filet mignons I have ever had, but it is certainly not the cheapest option in Epcot. If you are using the dining plan I believe you need to use 2 table service credits there. For Hollywood Studios we LOVE Mama Melrose. It is a quaint Italian restaurant tucked in the back of the park and the food is so delicious. I would argue it is much better than the Sci Fi diner, although I agree the ambiance at the Sci Fi is nice. Lastly in Animal Kingdom we love Yak and Yeti for dinner. They have a mix of indian and asian cuisines and I have not had an entree there that I have not liked.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH for your recommendations! We ended up booking Be Our Guest for lunch and CRT for dinner. I’ve always wanted to try CRT so I guess we’ll do it once and hopefully it’ll be worth it! We also booked San Angel Inn for our Epcot dinner! We loooove Mex - it’s the kids absolute favorite - so our whole family is down for that one! And good margs? SIGN US UP!! The kids really wanted to do Sci-Fi Dine-In theater again so we’re doing that at Hollywood studios. We'll have to do Mama Melrose next time! That was high on my list too!
DeleteOh I could write a whole post on Disney Dining! We try to eat at a new restaurant each time we visit and that means we've eaten at just about every place so far... our favorite in EPCOT is the Coral Reef; One huge wall is a giant fish tank and it's very calming to eat while watching all the fish (and the scuba divers!)… One of our other all time favorites at Disney is actually O'hana at the Polynesian. We've tried both the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast and the lunch/dinner and the food was amazing. Le Celliar served us one of the best steak dinners I've ever had (my husband and I went alone as a date mid-way through our trip while my mother in law stayed in the room with the kids!).
ReplyDeleteAaaahhhh I totally saw Coral Reef when I was researching last week. I'll have to add that to our list! And I'm so glad that y'all loved Ohana! We had that for breakfast last year and and we're doing it for dinner this year! I'm so excited!! And we LOVE steak so I'll have to look into Le Celliar... that would be amazing to have a date night at Disney!!!!
DeleteSo glad Amazon is replaced your dress. I returned mine today! :( I wanted to love it!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that Amazon is taking care of a
ReplyDeletedress for you! Lincoln Park after dark is always a perfect fall staple. Your Disney trip is going to be so fun! We didn't do many of those when we went. We did more of the character things for the boys. Like chef Mickey, Ohana's breakfast, and then we did the rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. Can't wait to hear what you decide on!
I need to make our reservations at some of the restaurants too. My dad did one of them for us already. I love that first dress, but with how tall I am, I don't think it will fit great. I am glad you were able to return the red dress.
