Master Bedroom Bedding Refresh

*This post is sponsored by Sam's Club but all opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting the brands that support Lindsay's Sweet World.

Hey y’all!  As you all know, I’m on a journey to get things DONE in 2019 (my word for the year) and one of the things that has been on my list for a long time is to do a little bit of updating in our master bedroom.

B and I built our current house and have been living here for TEN YEARS in October.  I can hardly believe it!  When we moved in we had all hand-me-down, mismatched furniture, so we spent the first few months selecting new pieces for our living room and bedroom.  Our entire bedroom set is from Ashley Furniture, and I still love it just as much today as I did when we first bought it.  However, our bedding has never been my favorite.  See the picture below?  Eh.

I have always been so picky about bedding and honestly there’s not much out there that I like.  I have always wanted white bedding, but I knew back when we furnished our bedroom that we’d be adding babies to the family (as well as a dog) soon, so I just didn’t think it was practical to go with white at the time.  I ended up finding something in the pattern that was all the rage in 2009 – damask – and I went with it.  It was nice for a while even though it wasn’t exactly what I’d had in mind, but I had fully intended to get it updated in a few years when I found something better.

Well, life happened and there we were in January 2019 with the same bedding almost ten years later.  Since 2019 is the year for me to get things DONE and checked off of my master to-do list, I decided that refreshing our bedroom was going to be a priority.

I ended up finding EXACTLY what I was looking for at Sam’s Club and since we’re on a tight budget I decided to reach out to Sam’s Club to see if they wanted to collaborate and they did!!  B and I have been loyal Sam’s Club members for nearly a decade (best place to buy diapers and formula and snacks and fruit and so many other things!!) so it was a dream come true to work with them!!  Ready to see the new bedding?  Come on in!

I picked out the Prairie by Rachel Ashwell Textured Stripe Comforter Set in White and they shipped it straight away along with another little surprise – new plush King Size Pillows to go in our shams!  I am SO impressed with the quality and the overall look of this set and I could not love it more!  It’s plush, it’s soft, it’s so luxurious, and it’s SO affordable, y’all!  The best part of the bedding is the textured fringe stripes… having all of that texture should prevent any stains from showing like they would on a smoother pattern, and that texture also helps mask the wrinkles and imperfections of an otherwise “smooth” comforter.

And my very favorite characteristic of this set?  IT’S MACHINE WASHABLE!!!!  Praise hands!!  Our last comforter set was dry clean only and #AintNobodyGotTimeFoDat.  You can probably imagine it didn’t get washed nearly as much as it should have for that reason.  #Yuck

Wanna see some more pictures?  Why yes, yes you do.  ;o)

In addition to the new bedding, I bought a couple of new blush throw pillows as I’m trying to incorporate my favorite color – pink – into the room.  So dreamy.  Now I only have a few more things on my wish list and our room refresh will be complete:

- Wall art to go over the bed (I already have something in mind)
- Bigger lamps for our bedside tables
- A large area rug to go under the bed for some extra texture
- A blush end-of-bed blanket/quilt for a little more color/coziness

Stay tuned... I’ll be sure to provide another update once it’s all done!  In the meantime I’ll just be over here enjoying all of the new airiness in our bedroom that this white bedding is providing!  And if you want another look, I'll be over on my Instagram Stories later with a live look at it!  You can also see my original master bedroom tour here if you want to get a better idea of what the room looked like before the refresh.

Thank you so much to Sam’s Club for providing product to facilitate with this refresh!  It’s so nice to finally have our master bedding exactly how I’ve always dreamed!

  7. It looks so good! I was just looking at one similar from Pottery Barn but I would love the price of this one so much better. I'm going to have to keep my eye on it for when the gray color comes back in stock.

  13. It looks so great! I love the striped detail on the duvet. And how great that it was through a collaboration! My parents just upgraded their damask too, it was all the rage back then!

  16. That is so beautiful but I could never get white bedding either.. and honestly it's more my husband than my kids or pets. His job is a pretty messy one and often comes home covered in filth (that he just doesn't even notice anymore). A washable comforter is a must!

    1. Yeah, you definitely wouldn't do well with a white comforter then! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that our kids don't ruin ours!

    1. Thank you so much! Pink is my favorite color but I didn't want to go too crazy since Brian has to live in there, too. ;o) So I figured subtle hints of pink would be fine!
