Saturdays are usually our
lazy days and this weekend was no exception.
As a matter of fact, this Saturday was a rainy one, so we were doubly as
lazy. I turned on all of the lamps and
twinkle lights first thing that morning, made some homemade waffles, and we let
the kids watch too much TV. Mid-morning
I was itching to do something productive, so I grabbed my paint brush and my
new paint that I had picked up at Lowe’s on Friday, and I got to painting my
little table that’s in my closet.
I had polled everyone on
Instagram Stories a couple of months ago about whether or not to paint it, and
the overwhelming majority said to leave it pink, but after mulling it over for
a few weeks, I decided that I was over the hot
pink, but definitely not over pink altogether.
That would never happen. Pink has
been, without a doubt, my favorite color since I was itty bitty, so I decided
to tone down the hot pink and paint it a light pink instead. I had dozens of questions about the paint
color, and it is “Little Piggy” by Benjamin Moore. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It’s not too peachy and it’s not too purpley…
it’s not too dark and it’s not too light.
It’s just perfect. As a matter of fact, I love it so much, I’m
now thinking of painting my hot pink office walls that color. <insert monkey-covering-its-face emoji
here> Just what I need… another thing
to add to the to do list! Ha!
Here it is before:
Meanwhile, B was introducing
the kiddos to the land of video games… specifically Super Mario Galaxy on our old
Nintendo Wii. The verdict is in, and I think
it’s safe to say that they are obsessed.
Saturday evening we went out
with my in-laws to celebrate my father-in-law for his birthday that was last
weekend. We went to Longhorn for dinner
and had cookie cake back at his house, and then B and I had another quiet
evening of Breaking Bad back home after the kiddos went to bed.
Sunday we went to my
mother-in-law and step father-in-law’s house for lunch and then we had some
time to spend in the back yard afterward.
Olivia was ecstatic because she was able to get a butterfly to land on
her finger!
Sunday evening was dinner at
my parents’ house. It was a pasta and
wine kind of night! My favorite! While we were over there, we had my Mama Cass look at Jacob's front tooth because it's been really loose (and I do NOT pull teeth), and she told him, "I just need to take a look at it..." and YANK! It was out! Haha. She pulled a bunch of my teeth when I was little so it was really special that she pulled one of Jacob's. <3 He's now missing three (two bottom front teeth and one top one)!
Today I’m off for a lunch
date with an old coworker and then I have to figure out what to do about Maui…
she’s been hobbling around on three legs for a week now and we’re not sure exactly
why or what happened, so I’m calling her vet this morning. We’re praying it’s not anything serious!
Make it a good Monday, y’all!

ReplyDeleteThank you! Yeah, Jacob was the last in his class to loose his first teeth I think! Some of the kids even have their adult teeth fully grown in already! It's crazy!
