Saturday evening we met my
parents at one of our favorite local brew pubs for dinner, grabbed some ice
cream, and then it was to bed early-ish for one and all to get ready for Easter
Sunday.
Easter morning we all got up
earlier than usual and the kids hunted their Easter baskets before sitting down
to a quick breakfast before church. We
joined my extended family at 10:30 AM mass to celebrate our risen Savior and
we, of course, used the opportunity to snap a few family pictures as we always
do each year on Easter. I had to post
aaaallll the pictures because – Olivia’s faces!
Haha.
We headed to lunch at my MIL
and step-FIL’s next where we sat down to a huge Easter Sunday spread of ham, pineapple
casserole, corn casserole, cheesy mashed potatoes, fresh carrots from the
garden, black eyed peas, and a lemon pie and Hershey pie for dessert! Whew!
After lunch we had our
traditional Easter egg hunt in their back yard, and the kiddos loaded up on
eggs full of candy, money, and prizes. Then
we headed to my aunt and uncle’s house to hang out with my extended family for
the afternoon.
I haven’t been able to say
anything on the blog just yet, but now that it’s finally official I can shout
it from the rooftops… MY BROTHER, SISTER-IN-LAW, AND NEPHEW ARE FINALLY MOVING
CLOSER TO HOME!!!! They have been living
in west Texas for the last few years and I have only gotten to see my nephew
twice since he was born, y’all. TWICE.
They were living about 20 hours away and they are now only going to be living
about 1.5 hours away so we are ecstatic!
They just made the move this weekend, so we were able to spend Easter
with them and we are just so thankful!
It sure beats only seeing them once a year for Christmas!
Sunday evening my
father-in-law stopped by our house to give the kids a few Easter goodies, and
then B and I made a simple cheese board and some Moscow Mules for a light
dinner since we were still pretty stuffed from our big Easter lunch.
Monday Jacob was still out
for Spring Break so he and Olivia and I stayed home. I swept, mopped, vacuumed, cleaned the counters,
cleaned the toilets, washed some towels, and I finally got the last little pile
of junk cleaned out and organized in the kids’ play room. I had to have Jacob around for that because I
have no clue where each tiny little piece goes and he remembers literally
everything. It’s crazy.
I’ll be back tomorrow for
the first of many of our Disney recaps… I have soooo much to post about! Tomorrow it’s going to be my recap by the

I am always impressed with a nice message.
In this season, Japan is stained with cherry color.
It is a very favorite season for Japanese people.
Sakura in Washington DC is also a present from Japan.
I am enjoying 70 kilometers on a road bike in cherry blossoms.
