It’s a new year which means
a whole new set of prompts for our Girl Chat series and today is a day for
reintroductions! I haven’t ever really
“introduced” myself properly here on the blog in a formal post before (aside
from my About page), so I’m hoping that you might all learn a little something
about me that you never knew prior to this post.
My name is Lindsay
(obviously), and I’ve been blogging over here at Lindsay’s Sweet World for
almost three years now. My husband,
Brian, and I just celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary back in December,
and together we have two beautiful babies here on earth, Jacob who is six, and
Olivia who is three, and one little angel in heaven.
We live in Georgia where
Brian and I were both raised, and we love life here in our sweet little
city. We’re close enough to Atlanta so we can get a
taste of big city life when we need to (hello, international airport!), and we
are only a short drive from both the beach and the mountains. I’d say our location is pretty perfect...
although, you won’t hear me saying that in July and August when it’s boiling
hot with a thousand percent humidity.
;o)
For the last thirteen years
I worked in sales and marketing for a worldwide corporation, but last November
I got my wish of becoming a stay-at-home mom, although, it didn’t all shake outexactly how I had envisioned. I’m now
navigating my new stay-at-home mom life carefully, trying to figure out my new
daily routine, and I’m really and truly loving every second of it so far.
Both of our kids go to
school during the day – Jacob is in first grade and Olivia is in Pre-K 3 – so
during the day it’s just our little pup, Maui, and myself at home. She hardly knows what to think now that I’m
home all the time.
I have always been a
dreamer, a reader, and a writer, and I started my blog as a scrapbook of our
daily lives and the things that I love.
I kept a diary from the time that I was old enough to write (I think my
first entry was from when I was six) all the way until I was married, and I
also scrapbooked for several years as well.
Scrapbooking eventually became too much and I couldn’t keep up with it,
so I turned to blogging instead. It
really is the perfect online scrapbook!
Another passion of mine is
music. I have a very eclectic taste in
music and I listen to everything from Ed Sheeran and Justin Timberlake to Frank
Sinatra and Michael Buble and pretty much everything in between – classical,
pop, classic rock, alternative, jazz, hip hop, R&B… I love it all! B and I are avid concert goers and we attend
several each year. Last year might have
been my favorite year yet because we saw some new artists as well as some old
faves – The Lumineers, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews & TimReynolds, Paul Thorn, and we ended the year in the fourth row at the Ed Sheeran
concert in Nashville . It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever
been to and I’ve been to a TON… right around 80, I believe.
My favorite band of all is
Dave Matthews Band, and I named my blog Lindsay’s Sweet World as a nod to them
and their song One Sweet World. I’ve
seen them in concert 21 times and we’re about to make it 22 in May. :o)
B and I also love travelling
and we did a lot of it before we had kids.
Each year we would always go to Vegas (our favorite place) and we would
also go to at least one new place. I’ve
traveled all over the U.S. – New York City, LA, New Orleans, Nashville, Vegas,
Hawaii, Washington DC, The Bahamas, and The Grand Canyon to name a few – but
surprisingly I’ve never been out of the country, even though there are plenty
of international cities on my bucket list.
Now that we have kiddos, we
still travel, but we typically stick to the beach and the mountains each year
since they’re still young. I’m hoping to
start venturing further away soon, though, as Olivia, our youngest will be four
next month.
I’m sarcastic and witty (or
at least I like to think so), but I’m shy around people I don’t know very
well. I am organized to the max… to the
point that I’m a little OCD at times. I
believe that everything has a place, and everything should stay in its place,
and it drives me absolutely bonkers when things are messy. I’m super controlling, and yes, I happily
know and admit this, and I’m also a planner. I like to know what we’re doing and when we’re
doing it well in advance, so you can probably gather that I’m also the least
spontaneous person you’ll ever meet.
What can I say, I like to be efficient with my time! Haha.
Some of my other loves and passions in addition to reading, writing, music, and traveling are college football… the Georgia Bulldogs to be exact (I was born and raised a fan and I also married a graduate), blogging, fashion, organizing, DIYing, Friends (the show), wine, working out, and, of course, hanging with my little family.
For more info about me, check out my Lowdown on Lindsay Topic here on the blog... there are 21 other posts to let you know a little bit more about me! Now that you know lots about me, tell me something about you!

I need to check out your lowdown on Lindsay posts - see if there are any I have missed! I feel like we have one major difference - I am not a DMB fan at all. I think everyone was obsessed with them in high school and I just never could hop on that bandwagon. You have gotten me to start listing to standards though. The perfect music for relaxing and cooking!
ReplyDeleteloved learning a bit more about you! can't wait to follow along with you as the year goes on!
ReplyDeleteI never knew you named your blog after a Dave song! So fun!! Where are you in the pic of you guys skiing?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to talk Dustin into buying me tickets for the DMB show in ATL this year!!! That's the closest location to us this time. So maybe we'll run into each other!! Loved learning more about you!
ReplyDeleteSarah at MeetTheShaneyfelts
I also kept a diary from age 6 through college!
ReplyDeleteI loved learning more about you today Lindsay! Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you had a lowdown on Lindsay page. I need to check that out!
ReplyDeleteLindsay, I love your reintroduction and especially your BEAUTIFUL pics! I joined girl chat today at the last minute--major blogging fail! I'm excited to read everyone's reintroductions. :)
ReplyDeleteLove getting to know you more! I wish 2.5 hours were not in between us because I just know we would be the best of friends! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your little craft room/office. I used to scrapbook, as well, but it became too much and too messy, so I started my blog. I love traveling and am trying to soak up as much of it as we can before we have kids.
ReplyDeleteI loved learning more about you! That picture of you and Olivia laying next to each other when she was a baby is just breathtaking! Blogging really is the perfect online scrapbook. Sierra~Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteI love that you named your blog after a Dave song! I love DMB too and have seen them a bunch, but not as many times as you, that is awesome! I love all the photos! I hope y'all get to travel internationally soon, I know you will love it! Even though my blog is a food one, it is still a scrapbook to me too, that is the best part I think!
ReplyDeleteYou've been to so many concerts.... that's amazing! Your babies are beautiful and I'm so glad you're loving your new role as SAHM. :) Nice to meet you, officially! xo, Jen
ReplyDeleteAhh, we have so much in common!! Seriously so much that I would rewrite your blog post naming it all, haha! So happy to have found your little corner on the internet! <3
ReplyDeleteHaha. That's awesome! And likewise. I love your blog, Brandi!
DeleteYes, blogging is definitely like an online scrapbook! I always like to go back and read old posts & reminisce about what was happening at that time. I've never been to Atlanta but hope to visit someday! Or just visit anywhere in Georgia. That is amazing that you have seen Dave Matthews Band 21 times!! I love going to concerts and trying to convince my husband that we need to attend some more this year! :)
ReplyDeleteEighty concerts! How cool is that?! I also love concerts and have a pretty eclectic taste in music. Blogging is my version of scrapbooking, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post to get you know better :) xoxo ERIN
ReplyDeleteI am sarcastic..but not witty...I dream of being witty! I hope to make to to Georgia this summer or the next...it really does seem like such a great state!
