Some random
happenings from our week…
O N E – Happy Mail
I ordered the
cutest romper for Olivia from Nel & Witt last week, and it arrived
Wednesday. It is so stinking cute and I
can’t wait for her to wear it! Now we
just need the warm weather to come back.
And I just love shopping with small businesses. The amount of care that goes into each
package that they send is just so extra special. Olivia’s romper arrived this week all wrapped
in tissue paper and tied with twine, and they had sent a thank you note along
with it that I later found out was designed using one of the owner’s artwork. It’s little finishing touches like those that
make me find myself shopping small more and more.
T W O – Funny Assignment
Y’all may
have seen this on Instagram last week. I
meant to put it in my post last week, but it slipped my mind. It’s so funny I couldn’t let it go by without
being documented, though. Jacob had an assignment
to write a recipe and this is what he brought home:
I was dying,
y’all. The way he spelled those
ingredients is perhaps the funniest thing I had seen all week. I cracked up.
Life with kids is never boring, that’s for sure!
T H R E E – Our Little Shopper
Last Friday evening,
B and Olivia stopped by Cracker Barrel to pick up dinner to bring home, and
they had to wait a few minutes until it was ready. For those of you who know and love Cracker
Barrel, you know that they have a little store at the front of every restaurant
and they have the best stuff. Well, Brian said that Olivia found the little
girl’s clothing section, and she was flipping through the racks to find stuff
that she liked. When something would
catch her eye, she would pull the hanger off the rack, hold it up and eyeball
it, and then put it back on the rack. He
said that she looked like a pro! He also
said that one of the ladies who worked there said, “Looks like you have a
little shopper on your hands!”
And I’ll have
y’all know that I don’t ever bring her with me when I shop because I always do
my shopping alone on lunch breaks. That
means that she didn’t get any of this from me!
Maybe she’s just a natural… a future buyer for a big department
store? A fashion designer? Only time will tell…
He sent this
picture of her while they were there and she just looks so sweet!
F O U R – More Concert Tickets
Remember how last week I was all excited because Ed Sheeran announced tour dates in the
US? Well, the presale for fans was
Monday and we were able to get tickets for the Atlanta show and… the Nashville
show! And the tickets for the Nashville
show are in the FOURTH FREAKING ROW. I’m
so excited I can’t even stand it. As of
now, I would guess we’ll probably sell the ATL tickets and keep the ones for
Nash. I have been dying to go, so this
would be the perfect excuse. And it just
so happens that it falls on a weekend in October when UGA is playing Vandy…
which is also in Nashville! Well looky
how that worked out! I think I feel an
Ed Sheeran/GA Game/Nashville trip coming in the fall! #GimmeAllTheWallMurals
F I V E – Allergy Testing
If you’ve
already seen my Instagram post, then you can probably just skip this since you
already know. My allergy test results
are in and according to my allergist I'm "like a fine wine..." I
"just keep getting better with age." Haha.
I’ll
elaborate.
At my last
allergy test 11 years ago I was severely allergic to the majority of the things
they tested me for. At this week’s test I was still mildly allergic to most of
the things but only severely allergic to three – bahia grass??, maple trees,
and sycamore trees.
Since I've
improved so much these last 11 years, the doc wants me to try to manage my
symptoms with three daily prescriptions instead of allergy shots. Not exactly what
I was hoping for, but I am glad that I’m becoming less allergic to things as I
get older, I suppose. I go back in six
weeks to check my status and he said that if things haven’t improved we’ll
start the shots.
I’m not sure
which I would prefer to happen at this point.
I, of course, want to get better, but I also don’t want to have to worry
about these seasonal flare ups. Aaaand I
also don’t like the fact that I’m now on three new prescription drugs. Eeeeks.
It seems that it might be better to just start getting the shots. That way in a couple of years I should be
shot and prescription free… I would hate to have to be on prescription drugs
for the rest of time…
Hmmmm…
Finally, in
case you missed it, I posted about our Leprechaun Trap earlier this week in case you're needing a last minute St. Patty's Day project for the kiddos.
And I also put together a roundup of all of my favorite off the shoulder tops… they are trending for spring and I’m all over
it!
I'm so ready to put these guys away...
Well, we’re
off to work and then to get the weekend started… our city is doing some fun
stuff downtown for St. Patty’s Day this evening, so I’m hoping that we can
check it out! Happy weekend!

Man allergy shots suck! I'm on month 21 of them...only 3 more years to go. Yuck! I also take a few daily prescriptions for my allergies, but I have to say makes a world of difference and I don't have to always worry about all of the pollen in the air. Yay for awesome concert tickets! So amazing and all of the other stuff that you can do while there, you're going to have a blast! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove his recipe! I always love those posts by parents and teachers of real kids' papers and the kid accidentally spells something super inappropriate. Have a fun weekend with your loves!
ReplyDeleteThat recipe is the cutest thing ever. Buder is a riot. Bummer about the allergies!!
ReplyDeleteAllergy testing sucks! Ugh! I'm glad to hear you're getting less allergic though! Other than that, looks like a fun week. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! It is really strange how our bodies change over the years!
DeleteThat's too cute about Olivia clothes shopping. I love the shop in front of Cracker Barrel. :)
ReplyDeleteYAY for getting Ed Sheeran tickets. I really want to see him live again - it's been forever, but the closest areas are still about two hours away and all weeknights I think. Seeing him in Nashville would be fun!

ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
OMG...what perfect timing and great score to get those tickets! Nashville is so much fun. I'm really hoping to take Dillon there on a college visit and I may secretly be hoping they recruit him for baseball...but it's a little too far from momma.
