Five on Friday - Favorites

Well, we made it through the week and the weekend is finally here!  We don’t have too much going on, so I’m hoping to get a few things done around the house.

Here are some of my favorites from the week…

O N E – A Hilarious Text Message

On Tuesday I posted the picture below on Instagram for some morning motivation and I didn’t even think twice about it.

Well late in the afternoon, I get a text from my “cool, fun aunt” (she told me to say that - hahahaha - but it's true) saying that those words and the placement of it (on the bed) totally made it look dirty.  Lol.  Not what I was going for at all, but I guess I need to pay more attention to stuff like that in the future… you know, for all of those people who always have their minds in the gutter!  I’m surprised Brian didn’t say anything about it… ;o)

T W O – A New Dress

I am completely obsessed with the off the shoulder trend for spring, and I came across THE CUTEST DRESS earlier this week… it is currently marked down from $75 to only $17.99 and you get free shipping!  $17.99!!  From J. Crew!  All of the reviews are saying that it runs at least two sizes too large so I ordered an XXS… I don’t think I’ve ever worn an XXS in anything in my whole life, but judging by the fact that they also have an XXXS, I’m thinking that I made the right decision.  Now hopefully I’ll be able to fit more than just one arm in it when it arrives.  Ha!  

T H R E E – An Exciting Surprise

Yesterday I arrived home to a package in the mail that I didn't remember ordering.  I was so surprised and even more excited when I opened it and saw Shay's new cookbook!!  Last year, she sent me an advanced copy of her last cookbook Eats, but she had emailed me first so I knew that it was coming.  This one was a complete surprise... and one of my favorite things that happened all week!  It comes out on April 1st, but you can preorder it now here.  And this is in no way sponsored, nor did Shay ask me to spread the word... I just love her and I make her recipes all the time, so I just wanted to share the love with you, too.  Thank you for the sweet gift, Shay!  I can't wait to whip up something yummy with my babies!

F O U R – New Haircut

Well, I chopped five inches off of my hair this week!  It’s just barely past my shoulders now and I am loving it!  It hasn’t been this short in seven years!  My hair has always been really fine and thin, so when it gets too long I can’t get it to do anything.

Speaking of which, I came across this spray on somebody else’s blog and I’m thinking of trying it.  It’s just so dang expensive I’m not sure if it will be worth it or not.  Supposedly you just spray it on dry hair and it adds texture and volume to fine hair.  Sounds too good to be true.  Has anybody tried this?

And just for the record, I despise taking selfies... I don't ever know where to look or how to have my face.  #Awkward

F I V E – New Music

You guys, I’ve been waiting for this day for weeks!  Ed Sheeran’s new album is out today!  I’ll be downloading it first thing this evening when we get home!  EEK!

Well, that’s enough for today!  Wish me luck… we are taking Olivia for her very first haircut this evening and I don’t know if my mommy heart can take it.  Cue all the tears!
