Last week B
and I had a date night (on a school night – a rarity these days!) to see Dierks
Bentley, Cole Swindell, and Jon Pardi. We
kicked off the night with a double date with my friend Adrienne and her hubs to
a gastropub here in town. We had been
there for drinks before, but we had never tried it for dinner, and it did not
disappoint.
B started the
evening with one of their craft beers, and I started with one of their
specialty cocktails – a Pear Smash – Breckenridge Vodka, fresh pear, lavender basil,
and St. Elder liqueur. Oh. My. Goodness. So unique and so yummy.
After dinner
we made our way to the concert… traffic was terrible and we ended up missing
Jon Pardi, but I’m not a fan anyway, so it didn’t hurt my feelings.
Adrienne and
her hubs sat right behind us, and fun fact, we didn’t even originally plan
that! She and I just happened to get
tickets right close to each other without even trying! We were in the 10th row so the seats were
excellent, but I did happen to have the world’s tallest man in front of me and
he had a crazy dancing buddy, but luckily they moved around so much during the
show that they weren’t as in the way as I had worried they would be.
By the time B
and I got in and settled Cole Swindell had just come out, and he put on a great
show. I’ve seen him live once before,
but I enjoyed him more the second time around.
Dierks came
out last and he was just awesome! He
played a bunch of old songs as well as new, and he even brought Jon Pardi and
Cole Swindell out to jam with him for a couple of songs.
Toward the
end of the concert, Dierks walked through the audience to the back of the venue
to sing a couple of songs for all of the people in the back rows. On the way back to the front stage, he walked
right by us! Adrienne was able to pet
his back – haha!! – and I got a super close-up picture of him. I didn’t even have to zoom because he was
right. there.
He ended the
show with Drunk on a Plane, and y’all, he had a whole jet on the stage! He dressed like a pilot and came out of the
jet and people started going wild. Cole
and Jon came back out once more to sing with him and it was just one big
party.
And that
wraps up date #2 for the year… we’re aiming for at least 12 again!

Sounds like he put on a good show! There's nothing worse than going to see someone in concert and it being a horrible or sub-par show. Love that he had an actual plane on the stage at the end! Yay for concerts on school nights! Those don't stop me either haha!

Gotta love Dierks Bentley!! That's a pretty amazing date! I can't believe he was that close. Wahoo!! And I'm intrigued by the donut burger.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun show. I love dierks! But I'm such a grandma I would not have wanted to stand for an entire concert hahah
ReplyDeleteLove me some Dierks and ironically Cole Swindell is our fav, we had front row last summer and he retweeted a pic of my husband and I, I about died! You look so HOT in that red off the shoulder!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is SO awesome! I would have died, too!! And thank you!! That shirt was SUCH a steal! I got it at Kohl's and it had been marked down from $45 to under $10!!
DeleteI bet he throws one hell of a concert! I would love to see him one day & Cole, too. Luke would have definitely tried the donut burger right along with B.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for date nights!! I was not a huge Dierks Bentley fan but my friend wanted to go to the concert with a big group so we bought tickets for a concert last summer. After going to the concert I love him now. He also put on a great concert.
ReplyDeleteShe was able to pet him, lololol! Oh my goodness what a fun night. Concerts are always such a buzz for days after they are over.

ReplyDeleteHow fun!!! His concert sounds like it was amazing and so cool that you guys had seats close to each other without even planning it - what are the odds?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a ton of fun!
ReplyDeleteThat red top is so cute and a fabulous color on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm a Georgia fan, so I wear a LOT Of red. It will be perfect for football games in the fall! EEK!
DeleteWhat a fun night! Love the red top too. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenna!
DeleteSo glad you guys are getting some date nights in! What a fun school night activity. And, what awesome seats! I'm sure that made the show even more exciting. We are seeing The Lumineers in two weeks, and I'm so excited to go to a concert again, haha!
ReplyDeleteI love this date night post idea. It also keeps you accountable for the goals. Does ordering pizza and staying in count as a date night? hehe that would be all I could recap :P
