Confession: I never decorated our house for Valentine’s
Day until last year. Crazy, I know! I started because I wanted to do something
fun for the kiddos to acknowledge the holiday, and also, because, well, #TheTargetDollarSpotMadeMeDoIt. Pink has been my favorite color for as long
as I can remember, so it’s really hard for me to resist all of the fun things
that they have for VDay every year. And,
of course, placement is on point because you just can’t help but see all of the
pink and red and white goodness right when you walk in the door. Those people definitely know what they’re
doing!
With that
said, all of the holiday decorations you see in this post are, in fact, from
the Target Dollar Spot. The only
exception is the “All You Need is Love” sign, which is from Marshall’s, and the
pink flowers… those are from Hobby Lobby.
And yes, they’re fake. If you’re
ever looking for fake flowers, Hobby Lobby is your store! These babies honestly look just as real in
person. And if you wait until they’re
50% off, they’re not even all that expensive!
In addition to the decorations, you'll see that we have our seasonal book crate stuffed full of Valentine's Day books and books about Love. I like to change out the kids' books so they can have festive books right at their fingertips, and it also gives them a chance to read books that would otherwise get lost in their massive collections. You can see the post about our seasonal book crate here.
Enough chit chat... here are the decorations!
I hope you
enjoyed! And if you're looking for some treats to bake for the big day, look no further than my Strawberry Crinkle Cookies. They are only four ingredients, they are so easy to make, and they are delicious!
So tell me, do you decorate for Valentine’s
Day?

Thank you, Jill! I do love the light touches of pink! :o)
DeleteI love it all, Lindsay! I've never really decorated for Valentine's Day either, until just recently. We're all just going to sit inside most of the winter anyway, so why not have pretty things to look at, right? Loved your tour. Oh and I apologize for not commenting on your posts lately, just want you to know that I read every post! Your blog is awesome, girl! I don't know how you do it!
ReplyDeleteSome years I decorate and others I don't, but this year we did and the kids love it. I love your mantel and your chalkboard art is spot on!!
ReplyDeleteI love your mantel and that you decorate it for each holiday. I miss having one and tell my husband that I just may create one for decorating purposes only.
ReplyDeleteI love your mantel...especially that black and white striped vase. I really need to decorate for Valentine's this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, that vase is probably my favorite thing that I've ever gotten from the Target Dollar Spot. Love love love!

Thank you! It never really occurred to me either until last year when Target was loaded up with pink and red goodies! I couldn't resist!
DeleteI went to Target and had a hard time not buying everything from the dollar spot. So many cute things. Love your decorations!
ReplyDeleteLove that garland - my Target hasn't had it which makes me so sad!
ReplyDeleteI so wish we had a mantel! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI never decorated for V-Day until last year either! But now it's one of my favorite holidays to decorate for! I need that pom pom garland! And I LOVE your chalkboard design! Beautiful decorations!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet update to add a little festivity to your home! The only Valentine's Day decor I put out is a tea towel on our dish washer & a red baking dish with candy on our kitchen bar.
ReplyDeleteYes, I wanted to keep it fairly light, too... pink and red can get overwhelming really fast!
DeleteI am totally obsessed with that vase and love it even more every single time I see it. I wish it would fit in with my house.
ReplyDeleteI love how you decorated! Not overwhelming -- just perfect!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!! Your house is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI've never really decorated for Valentine's Day. I think I'm usually just over getting the Christmas decorations put away that I don't bother, but you've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donna! Yes, I never used to either for the same reason as you, but last year I just couldn't resist those sweet little decorations from Target.
DeleteYou house is so festive!! I love all of the cute decorations.
ReplyDeleteAhhh i love all of this Lindsay!! I think your chalkboard is my favorite, but it's so hard to choose just one!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brandi! I do always love my chalkboards! Pretty soon it will be time to clear it to do Olivia's birthday chalkboard!
