B has been out
of town for work since Monday, so I’ve been momming so hard this week. It’s been nothing but 5 AM wake-up calls and 11
PM bedtimes in order to get everyone where they need to be and to get everything
as much as I can done every day. When B
gets home this afternoon, he’s going to be on Daddy-duty for a solid week. ;o)
A few favorites
to get your Friday started…
O N E – My Mommy and Daddy
Speaking of
being a single mom this week, I have to mention that I have the most amazing
parents a girl could ever ask for. They
were such a huge help this week… they helped shuttle kids back and forth, they
came over to help out with bath time a couple of nights, and they brought
homemade beef stew for dinner one night.
I am so thankful to have them so close and I’m so thankful that they are
so selfless that they put their own plans on hold to come help me when I needed
it. They love our babies like their own
– maybe even more than their own (AKA – ME… haha) – and I am forever grateful
to have them in my life.
And it was so
hectic this week, I sadly forgot to capture any of the moments of them with the
kiddos. :o(
T W O – New Shoes
Run, don’t walk
to Target, ladies! Their new spring shoe
line is out and, wow, do they have some gorgeous stuff! These right here… I die.
Remember these Dolce Vita Linsey Wedges that
everyone was paying an arm and a leg for last year?
Well, DV now has a line for Target and these are almost identical to those! But for almost 80% less! And I actually think these are
even cuter! OMG!
And look at
these! And these! And these! I could go absolutely nuts right now! But I won’t, Brian. ;o)
T H R E E – A Sweet Message
One night last
week Jacob was playing in the bathtub and he said, “Don’t look, Mommy… I’m making
something for you.” So I waited
patiently while he did his thing, and when he finally told me to look, I saw
this:
I mean, melt my
heart why don’t you!
F O U R – A New Coffee
Have any of you
ladies tried the Cascara Latte at Starbucks yet? It is so
good. This past Wednesday the traffic
gods were watching over us and I managed to get both kids to school in record
time so I had a few extra minutes. I
decided that instead of going to work early, I’d just head on over and pick up
a treat. I was torn between this one and
the Cinnamon Dolce Latte that Emily had told me about, but I decided to try
this one first. It was so
delicious!
F I V E – A Day With my Girl
Olivia had an
appointment yesterday, so I took the day off to be with her. The appointment was scheduled for noon which
meant that she would miss lunch and nap at school, so I decided it was best to
just take the whole day off since I would have to feed her a late lunch and get
her home for a late nap.
We had a fun
little girls’ day before the appointment.
We got Jacob off to school, and then she and I headed to Panera for
breakfast… but not before heading to Starbucks for a Cinnamon Dolce Latte! Thanks, Emily… it was SO good.
After Panera,
we ran to Target and I’m ashamed to say that I already bought a swimsuit and
cover-up for Olivia. I always talk about
how ridiculous it is that stores have swimsuits out in January, but hey, I
figured that I might as well get while the gettin’s good! And how cute are they?! I mean, the cover-up has little pom poms on it, for goodness sake!!!! I didn't want to miss out!
After Target,
we had to return something at Hobby Lobby and then we made our way to the
library where we parked ourselves until her appointment. We read several books and met up with a
couple of friends who just so happened to also be there.
After the
appointment was over, we headed to CFA for a late lunch, I let her play on the
playground for a few minutes, and then it was home for a nap (for her) and to
do all the things (for me) before heading to pick up J from school.
I rarely get
any one on one time with Olivia, so these days are always so cherished. I love my girl!
Well, happy
weekend, all! We’re off to the ball, and
it looks like I’m going to have to wear the original sequins dress because the
gorgeous red one isn’t going to make it here on time due to some shipping
issues. WAAAAHHHH!!!! January just continues to be a butthole to me,
doesn’t it? I sure hope that yours has
been better!

ReplyDeleteJacob's message was so sweet!!

Target does a great job with having cute shoes. I honestly can't go down the aisles. Ha ha! I love Jacob's sweet message. What a guy. One on one days are so special. I've been doing them with Cam and it's amazing! Have a great weekend and enjoy having your hubby back.
ReplyDeleteTarget always has such great stuff. Those shoes are darling! If they are as comfy as the DV ones you will love them! How fun to spend one on one time with Olivia. Looks like it was a great day. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your parents are so close by that they can stop in and help....that is such a blessing!! yay for your hubby coming back from work and hopefully giving you a little me time!! Enjoy girl! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you liked the Cinnamon Dolce Latte - I think I might have to get one at work today. Although it sounds like I certainly need to try the Cascara one!!! So sad about the red dress - you know I was pulling for that one! Enjoy having B back - I bet you all missed him!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried that coffee drink yet--what does it taste like? And I bet being a single mom for a week give a whole new respect to women who are single moms all the time. So glad your husband is back!!
ReplyDeleteSarah at MeetTheShaneyfelts
Ok that bath message from Jacob-I die. So sad your dress won't be here-I actually ordered one from there for our wedding tomorrow and same thing :-( but the sequin one is gorgeous! I hope you enjoy a glass (or three) of wine tonight once daddy returns! Have fun this weekend!
ReplyDeleteAwww, Jacob is so sweet! XOXO I'm so glad you had help from your parents this week. It makes a huge difference! Those shoes at Target...much cuter!
ReplyDeleteYes it does! I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. Have a great weekend, Stef!
DeleteI was at Target the other day but the girls were being insane so I couldn't check out the shoes, but from far away I could tell there was cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat message from Jacob is so sweet! I need to get on bathing suits for the kids too, we have an upcoming pool party and I don't think they have any that fit!? Sounds like such a fun day with Olivia!
Have a great time at the ball!! You'll look gorgeous whatever you wear!
I ended up trying the Cascara this week, too!! Very subtle flavor and just a light sweetness - I loved!! I'm totally going to have to jump on the Target shoes bandwagon. Usually I buy fewer but nicer shoes (I'm always worried the Target ones will hurt my feet?) but it seems everyone is raving about them!!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you know I'm running to target, LOL! So everyone has been telling me about the CasCara, I'm totally going to try it next time. Oh that Jacob, what a sweetheart. And little Olivia's face, just makes me melt! I hope you have a sweet and cozy weekend beautiful lady! You deserve some great downtime.
ReplyDeleteLol. Go load up! I can't wait to see which ones you get!
DeleteAnd thank you. I'm hoping things are going to be looking up now!
My parents and in-laws both live close, so they are always helping out. I am forever grateful! You had a busy week! Hope you get to relax soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And yes, I don't know what I would have done without them! I'm a lucky, lucky girl.
DeleteGirl, you have had a rough month. My parents live close by and I love it! They are so helpful and would have done the same thing your parents did as well. I love that they are close by and we get to spend so much time with them. The sequin dress is beautiful, I can't wait to hear about the ball. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, we haven't had a doozie of a month like this in a long time. I'm hoping that things are looking up now! And aren't we so blessed to have such amazing parents?! I seriously don't know what I would have done without them this week.
DeleteThat message is so sweet! I haven't tried the Casacara Latte yet but I saw it. What does it taste like?
ReplyDeleteMy week last week was the same - I am so, so incredibly thankful for my parents. I don't know what I would've done without their help while Tim was gone. Solo parenting is NOT easy!! Jacob's message - melt my heart!!
ReplyDeleteYou're almost there Momma! Weeks on our own are definitely no joke. That's awesome your parents have been such a big help. Oh my gosh, Jacob is the sweetest! Don't be ashamed girl, I already have a few ordered and some on their way for the boys. It's never too early to think about nicer weather :) Have a great weekend! Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteWe are seriously coffee twins! Since the Salted Caramel Mocha is a gonner (miss it so much) I decided to try the Cinnamon Dolce Latte & it's my absolute favorite now! Sometimes I have them add a pump of caramel and it's even better! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

I get the same thing every single time for Starbucks. I have a fear that I'll get something and hate it then I will have wasted my money and chance at coffee.
ReplyDeleteI am a "single" mom next week too. Rory is gone Monday through Friday as well. Then I need some me time after that. So glad your parents were able to help out!!! Love that sweet message in the bath. And yay for a day with just Olivia. I need to take my girls out for one-on-one time more often. I think it would be good for us. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat sweet message and that swimsuit for your daughter #swoon! I also am loving the Target spring shoe line...they have some darling Lucky look-alike booties that I am itching to have :)! Have a great weekend!!! xoxo ERIN
ReplyDeleteI just had the Cascara Latte and wow was it good!
ReplyDeleteWasn't it?! When people ask me what it tastes like, I don't even really know how to describe it... it's just... good. Lol.
DeleteWhew you must be exhausted! I want to try one of those new Starbucks drinks! Maybe this week. That is so sweet that your parents helped out! And yumm....beef stew!
ReplyDeleteAlright, first of all, Jacob spelling that out in the bath tub would have made me seriously cry. Love it! And, how special you got to spend Friday with Olivia. I hope you guys get the rest you need this weekend. Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteTarget wins for best dupes don't they? Sorry you had a long week with the hubs out of town, hope you have an amazing weekend with him back at home! <3

Oh man I almost teared up hearing you read about your parents. You ARE such a lucky lady friend. That message is just the sweetest too! I hope you are having a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou and your little one always put together cute outfits. Love that pic of you two. I own several similar laceup shoes but I do want those DV ones from Target too, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteDo come join my most recent linkup with this great outfit. Don't forget to join me with your sweet style, every Thursday. Thanks Lindsay.

It is so hard to single parent and I am always so excited when Danny returns home from a trip. You're definitely very fortunate to have family nearby, our family all lives at least a 4 to 5 hour drive away. I love those shoes from Target! I may need to go there this weekend. And I also think I will go and try out that new latte. I've seen it a couple of times and wondered if it was good.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I don't know how you do it without family nearby. It really does take a village to raise a child, and I wouldn't be able to function without my village!
