Our wedding
ceremony wasn’t until 7:30 in the evening, so we had a lot of time to kill until
then. I slept like a rock the night
before, and I was able to get up leisurely, have a little bit of breakfast, and
get showered before heading to my hair appointment. My bridesmaids and my mom and I all met at
the church around noon, and we set up shop in one of the meeting rooms. It was an explosion of dresses, bouquets,
makeup, hair brushes, and other beauty items.
Brian and the
groomsmen were all camped out in another set of meeting rooms on the other side
of the church, so we didn’t have to worry about him and I running into one another
before our pictures. And the boys didn’t
have to worry about doing makeup and hair or any of that, so we let them have the
room with the pool table and the TV for football watching. ;o)
Once we were
all ready, my photographer, Julie Hedges, came in to take a few behind the
scenes shots, and then it was time to take all of our professional photos which
I will share in another post.
We took
pictures for a couple of hours, and then it was back to the meeting rooms to
freshen up and get ready for the actual ceremony. By that time, I hadn’t eaten very much all
day so I was starving. I have always had
a nervous stomach and when I have something big going on like this, I tend to
do better when I don’t eat. However, I
had eaten so little that day, that I was starting to feel a bit faint, so my
uncle came to my rescue and he ran to the KFC just around the block from the
church to get some buckets of popcorn chicken.
I don’t ever even eat KFC, but that was the best freaking chicken I had
ever had because I was so hungry! Haha. And my girls thought it would be hilarious to
take pics of me eating it in my wedding dress (since I was literally just
minutes from walking down the aisle), so someone snapped this picture. #Classic and #Classy
Those hours
leading up to the ceremony that I spent with all of my favorite ladies were
just priceless, and they are hours that I will cherish forever. It was the perfect way to spend the day.
So fun! Those hours are definitely special. I'm anxiously awaiting the actual wedding photos. :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, I'm loving these posts! What a fun walk down memory lane!
ReplyDeleteOh my word! I have yet to notice just how much you look like your mama! WOW!!! I wish one of my girls looked even the smallest bit like me :P.
ReplyDeleteYou and your mom are so beautiful! I absolutely love your wedding dress! Suits you perfectly and you were the most beautiful bride! Our wedding colors were red and black as well! And duh of course I know they were yours because of your love of Georgia! Perfect girl! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Andrea! And that's so great that yours were red and black, too. You know I'm a big fan! ;o)
DeleteMy mom was so concerned about me eating that day that she had a whole table spread of food for all of us to snack on! KFC would have been good though haha! Love the behind the scenes photos--those are always fun to look back on!

You looked absolutely stunning Lindsay!! I am loving reading these recaps and seeing all these pics, so fun!
ReplyDeleteI live that you had fried chicken before you got married that is too funny!! Being surrounded by all your favorite people is the best! Happy Thanksgiving girl!
ReplyDeleteThe KFC is the best!!!! Sounds like it was a great time leading up to the ceremony. I don't often hear about having receptions later on in the evening - a nighttime one sounds super fun though!
ReplyDeleteSo smart to have a late ceremony! Ours was midday, while we didn't feel super rushed, a little extra time with my girls would have been nice.
