Why yes, yes I am posting about Christmas shopping at
the beginning of November!
You guys may recall
that I mentioned that I had already started my Christmas shopping in my What's Up Wednesday post at the end of October.
Well, now that Halloween is officially over it. is. on.
Our shopping
list is very long every year, so my motto for Christmas shopping has always
been that you can never start too early.
This year is no exception as we have 41 people to buy for… parents,
siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers, teachers, kids we “adopt” at
church… people of both genders and all ages.
Whew. I’m exhausted even thinking
about it. The older I get, the busier I am,
and I have found that as much as I love shopping in brick and mortar stores,
it’s just not practical anymore for Christmas as my time is so limited. I have started buying as many gifts as I
possibly can online these last couple of years because it is so darn convenient. And if I can get most of the gifts from one
place, that just makes it even better.
When UncommonGoods
asked me if I wanted to collaborate, I was actually giddy! UncommonGoods is a privately-owned retailer
located in New York, and we have been receiving their catalog in the mail at
our house for several years now. They
always have the coolest stuff –
unique jewelry, designer décor, tabletop items, and handcrafted gifts (most of
which are created right here in the good ol’ USA) – genius products and really
cool novelty items that you never even knew you needed or wanted until you see
them. One-third of their collection
incorporates recycled or upcycled materials so they are environmentally
conscious as well, plus they also
work with several non-profit organizations such as RAINN and Reach Out &
Read so you can feel good about shopping with them.
The very best
part is, they have something for everybody on your list.
O N E – The Man in Your Life
I don’t know
about you guys, but my hubs loves beer.
Heck, I do too, but not as much as he does. We have a few local places who make and/or
sell craft beer, and he loves ordering beer flights or mixing up a six pack of
different bottled beer at our craft beer store to try. I actually got him a beer cap map for his
birthday earlier this year and he loves it!
UncommonGoods has the coolest products for beer lovers as well as plenty
of other cool non-beer gift ideas for your hubs, your dad, your father-in-law,
and pretty much every other man in your life. Take a look at all of their ideas here.
T W O – The Woman in Your Life
One thing that
I always look forward to seeing in their catalog year after year is the great
selection of jewelry and accessories they have for women. Necklaces, scarves, bracelets, earrings… they
have it all. And everything is so
beautiful. These make the perfect gifts for moms, girlfriends, and any other woman in your life! You can see the rest of the selection here.
T H R E E – The Baby in Your Life
I loved
receiving novelty items for our babies when they were tiny, and boy, what I
wouldn’t give right now to have a baby to put in those adorable taco booties
and that sweet football onesie! I mean,
seriously. How stinking cute! And if you’re not impressed with the taco
booties (I mean, how could you not be?!) there are a ton of other fun items on
the website, too!
F O U R – The Child in Your Life
Let’s face it,
kids get a lot of stuff for
Christmas, and it seems that our kids already have every toy in existence. UncommonGoods has a really great selection of
unique toys that you won’t find at Toys R Us or Target, so you can be sure that
you’re getting them something that they don’t already have.
F I V E – Gifts for Everyone Else
Dirty Santa
parties or gift exchanges with co-workers, neighbors, teachers, etc… sometimes
those are the hardest gifts to buy in my opinion, because you may not know the
people very well personally.
UncommonGoods has a huge selection of gifts for everyone so you’re sure
to find something for the individuals who you don’t normally buy for.
Well have I
convinced you? What are you waiting
for? Christmas is only 51 days away so
get to shopping!
