O N E – Labor Day Weekend Recap
I was really
late getting my weekend post up this week, so I thought I would mention it here
in case anyone missed it. We had the best weekend in Atlanta at the
Georgia game, spending time with family, and eating good food. I even got to meet someone famous. ;o)
You can see the recap (and the picture of me fangirling with my famous
peep) here.
T W O – 8 Months Strong Not Repeating an Exact Outfit
If you’ve been
visiting my little space on the internet for a while then you already know
about my clothes challenge for 2016. If
you’re new here, then this is for you! I
decided to challenge myself to try to wear a different outfit every single day
for this entire year. Now, I obviously
don’t have 365 shirts and 365 pairs of pants/shorts/skirts, so what that means
is that I can repeat any article of clothing however many times I want as long
as I pair it with different stuff. It’s
all about the mixing and matching and accessorizing with different shoes, jewelry, belts, and scarves. So far I’m eight months strong with only four months to go! I recapped August earlier this week and that
post is here if you want to see it.
Links to all of the other monthly recaps are at the bottom of my August
recap, and they can also be found on the fashion tab above.
T H R E E – Jacob’s Schoolwork
Jacob is
rolling right along in Kindergarten, and believe it or not, Kindergarten means
homework four nights a week. Every
Monday and Wednesday he has to read for 15 minutes, and then every Tuesday and
Thursday he has a homework sheet (usually math) that he has to complete. However, last Thursday, they also
incorporated online math homework. They
use a specific training website and Jacob has his very own username and
password. I just can’t get over that for
some reason. Does anyone else find that
as funny as I do? He just turned five
and he already has his very own username and password for a website. Lol. My
oh my, how things have changed since I was in Kindergarten!
But anyhoo,
this kid is a BOSS at math. And he gets
it from his Daddy… I’ll be the first to admit that math is not my strong suit. Last Friday he had his first math test and he
got a 100!! And it wasn’t just a short
quiz, y’all… it was four pages long and around 25 questions. SLAY.
F O U R – Puzzles
Aside from
Legos, Jacob is also now obsessed with puzzles.
He has always loved them, and he’s always been very good at them. For his birthday, we decided it was time to
get a puzzle with more pieces as he was flying through the puzzles with only 25
pieces. We graduated him to a 100 piece
puzzle of the planets and he loves
it. He’s already put it together and
taken it apart several times, and he’s getting faster and faster each
time. I know what he’ll be getting for
Christmas!
And speaking of
puzzles, Olivia loves them, too. She
loves to play with a wooden United States of America map puzzle that we got for
Jacob a couple of years ago. She can do
the entire thing by herself now and she even knows some of the states! It’s unbelievable. #WeMakeSmartBabies
F I V E – A Trip to the Dentist
You may have
already seen this on Instagram, but J and I had our dental checkups earlier
this week, and everything went great!
Jacob is now an old pro in the dentist chair, and he loves going. Neither of us had any cavities, so naturally,
we went out for ice cream sundaes at Burger King to celebrate! I love my one on one dates with this
boy. He is such a joy.
Well friends,
we have more fun stuff on tap for this weekend, so I’ll see you all back here
on Monday for the recap!! Happy
weekend!!

ReplyDeleteI went to the dentist yesterday! And booked P's October appt right after (though he sees a pediatric dentist/orthodontist because we've already been told in no uncertain terms he is headed for an expander and years of braces... sorry little guy). You make me want to of out and get a puzzle! We never graduated on from the baby ones - a must do!
ReplyDeleteHa ha I know exactly what you mean about a kindergartner having their own log in and password! Brayden had that last year for math and reading and we are waiting for his new name/password for this year.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Jacob on that math test!!
I think I need to get that planet puzzle for Brayden! Have a great weekend! xo
I hope our kiddos get my husbands math abilities, because I'm horrible at math...I mean terrible! Haha! Jacob is such a cutie in the dentist chair...glad he's had good experiences and NO cavities!

ReplyDeleteHaha, I had to put his username and password on our bulletin board so I won't forget it. I already have enough of my own to keep up with. Lol.
DeleteWow, that is amazing that he is already doing so well. I didn't realize they already get such structured homework in Kindergarten. He will definitely be ready for first grade. And, what a cute dude in the dentist chair. Happy Friday to you guys!

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit challenge! Might have to try that one myself! Has it been super challenging? - McKenzie // SomethinSouthernBlog.com
ReplyDeleteWell, it wasn't too bad for the first few months, but now I'm really having trouble keeping track of all of the different combinations I've worn, so I'm having to refer to my old posts a lot to make sure I'm not repeating anything! You should try it!
DeleteGo Jacob! Acing math, puzzles, and a good dentist appointment? Does life get any better for a kid?! Hope you guys are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYep, things have changed...in kindergarden, I was jealous of people who had the huge box of Crayola crowns with a bunch of different shades.
ReplyDeleteOnline assignments in Kindergarten is crazy to me! I WISH my little niece was into Legos and puzzles. I always have a hard time knowing what to buy her for Christmas and her birthday! - Dorrie @ Rt 1 US 1
ReplyDeleteY'all are such cute Georgia fans! We went to Texas A&M but have an english bulldog.. so I feel like we should cheer for the dawgs too, haha! XO
ReplyDeleteLook at those puzzle skills...that is impressive!!! And I'm not going to lie, I was really hoping you'd met Jason Aldean at the game! ;)
