Five on Friday - Some Thoughts about Daddy

Since Father’s Day is this Sunday, I wanted to put together an extra special post today for my very favorite person in the whole world, my baby daddy.  I thought that it would be fun to record some thoughts on how we view our best guy from each of our perspectives.  I sat down with Jacob and Olivia (and Maui) and asked them some questions, and the responses were just as silly and off the wall as I had imagined they would be.

So in our own voices, this is what we think about Daddy…

O N E – My Comments

I love that you have been such a hands-on Daddy from the beginning.  I love how you love to pick up little gifts for the kids at random because you know that it’s something they will love.  I love how you always buy a special gift for each of them at Christmas instead of leaving the shopping entirely up to me.  I love that you’re willing to be a single daddy for an evening so I can go out with my girlfriends for dinner.  I love that you love to play with them and teach them new things and nurture them to help them grow and I love that you love them with every ounce of your being.  And even though your job can occasionally be a pain in the butt (i.e.: travelling), I love that you work so hard to make a good living so that we can live comfortably.  You are our own personal Superman and we’re so thankful for you every single day.      

T W O – Maui’s Comments

Maui said that she loves Daddy and that she’s thankful for him because he always remembers to give her treats when she goes potty outside (Mommy sometimes forgets), and because he gets up from the couch 84 million times each evening to let her out every time she has to potty/sees a bug/wants to chase a bird.

T H R E E – Jacob’s Interview

What is Daddy’s favorite color?  “Red!”  (Excellent choice.)

What is Daddy’s favorite song?  “Ba Ba Black Sheep!”  (I’m sorry, what?)

What is Daddy’s favorite thing to eat for dinner?  “Umm… bread.”  (Lay off the carbs, B!)

What is Daddy’s favorite dessert?  “Key Lime Pie!!”  (Another excellent choice.)

What is Daddy’s favorite sport?  *With crazy excitement in his eyes*   “TENNIS!!!!”

What is Daddy afraid of?  “Big giant monsters!”  (Well, who wouldn’t be?!)

Who is Daddy’s favorite person?  “Donnie.”  (Huh?  We have one friend named Donnie and Jacob probably hasn’t seen him in ages.  I have no idea where this came from.  And what about Mommy?!)

What do you love about Daddy the most?  “His friends.”  (Again, huh??)

What is your favorite thing to play with Daddy?  “My Hot Wheels Garage and my Millennium Falcon.”  (Accurate.)

What makes Daddy laugh?  *Flaps hands, crosses eyes, and sticks tongue out* “Da, da-da, da-da.”

F O U R – Olivia’s Interview

What is Daddy’s favorite color?  “Ummmm…GWEEN!”  (Wow, she actually said a color… didn’t see that coming.)

What is Daddy’s favorite song?  “Ummmm… BOOTY!”  (Oh, here we go.)

 

What is Daddy’s favorite thing to eat for dinner?  “BOOTY!!!!”  (Yep, I thought that’s where this was going.)

**At this point we take a 10 minute break because I know if we don’t, every answer from here on out will be… you guessed it… booty.**

What is Daddy’s favorite dessert?  “Ummmm… cinnamon woll!” 

What is Daddy’s favorite sport?  *Crickets*

What is Daddy afraid of?  “Ummmm… poopie!”  *Jacob dies laughing, falls back on the couch, and shouts NOOOO!* 

Who is Daddy’s favorite person?  “BOOTY!!!!  Anna!  Mommy!  Poopie!!!!”  (Here we go again.)

*Takes another 10 minute break*

What do you love about Daddy the most?  “Ummmm… fishies… da fishies in da o-shun.”  (O-kay.)

What is your favorite thing to play with Daddy?  “Ummmm… fishies!”  *I rephrase the question and ask her if she likes to play with any toys when she plays with Daddy*  “Ummmm… yeah, Hot Wheels!”  (Accurate.)

What makes Daddy laugh?  “Ummmm… fishies!” 

Well I guess that’s better than booty.
