The Shorts of Summer

I love shorts – plaid shorts, printed shorts, cutoff shorts… you name them, I’ll probably wear them.  They are a staple in any good southern girl’s closet during the summer… that’s pretty much the only thing we can wear to beat the heat during the steamy months of July and August… besides a bathing suit, of course.

Here’s a roundup of some of my current favorites.
Birds // I think these would be cute paired with a navy eyelet top and some brown sandals… perfect look for any average day of wrangling kids and running errands.

Navy Scalloped // These would look gorgeous with a silky, flowy top and some wedges… perfect for a night out!

Plaid // Well if these aren’t the most fun!  I used to have a dress of almost the exact same plaid and it was one of my favorites ever!  These would be extremely versatile because you could pair them up with a shirt of pretty much any color of the rainbow.

Camo // These would look great with a graphic tee for a super casual look.

Blue Chevron //  Another pair to dress up or dress down.

Red Shells // Perfect for the beach!

White Daisies // These could also be paired with a shirt of pretty much any solid color and the daisies have a retro feel!

Anchors // More beach shorts!

Green Whales & Navy Pineapples // I actually own these in navy with pineapples and they are my favorite pair of shorts that I’ve ever owned.  The fit is perfect, they were extremely affordable, and who doesn’t love pineapples??

Aaaand now I want to buy all of the ones that I don't already have.

Enjoy your day!

  1. When I was in Loft last weekend, I noticed all of the cute shorts they have! They had lots of cute printed ones that could be on the more dressy side and then Gap had some really cute casual shorts. I'm definitely in need of more shorts this year!

  3. I love the scalloped pair! I've never been much of a shorts girl. Probably because I feel like my thighs are too big but I did buy a few lies of colored and printed from crown and ivy at belk.

  6. So cute! I have a hard time finding shirts that work for me. They're all either too long or show off WAY too much... if you catch my drift.

    1. Haha, yeah, I have average length legs, so I usually don't have too much trouble with them being too short.
