Jacob has, yet
again, amazed us with his fabulous memory and intellect. Last night during dinner, he sang a little
song and recited all of the planets in order by distance from the sun, and he knew
lots of other random facts like which ones were hot, which ones have rings, etc. He has only been learning about the planets
for the last few days, so the fact that he remembers them in order just blows
my mind! I don’t think I knew that
little tidbit of information until around third grade, maybe, and he’s only three! And I only remembered it because of the great
planetary mnemonic, My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas… y’all remember that?!
I had forgotten all about it until last night.
Anyway, it appears that Jacob’s teacher is still teaching that there are only eight planets… I know Pluto was demoted from a planet a few years back, but I thought that they had promoted it back to a planet again recently?! Apparently I can’t keep up, but in the great words of 2 Skinnee J’s (look them up!), “Pluto is a planet” and it always will be in my book.

This one.
She’s just so
girly. And I do hope that she stays this
way. Everyone always told me that I
would have all boys because I always wanted a little girl so bad, and then when
I had Olivia, everyone told me that she’ll end up being a tomboy so I still
won’t have the girly girl that I always wanted.
Hahahaha. I sure hope they’re
wrong, because I’m truly enjoying all of the girliness. All this week she has been coming home from
school, finding her little toy bracelet, sliding it on her arm, and wearing it
for the rest of the night. And she loves her sunglasses. And her little toy purse. She really is just a tiny little Lindsay walking around. And I will love it as long as it lasts.

One of my
favorite things about this time of year is going on walks around our
neighborhood after dinner. It’s so good
to get out of the house after sitting at a desk all day, and it’s even better spending
time with my little fam! Plus, cardio is
never a bad thing!

I can’t possibly
wait any longer to tell you – the building process for the addition has
begun!!!! This week they removed the
brick from the wall where we’re attaching the indoor closet, they pulled up the
sod, laid the footings, and poured the slab!!
I am beyond thrilled!!
Unfortunately, the framing won’t begin until the week after next, so
next week we won’t see any progress, but the
good news is that it should only take about two weeks to complete
once the framing begins. Soooo, as long
as the weather cooperates (fingers crossed), we should be all settled in by the
end of this month!!!! I think I feel a
Fourth of July party coming on…

Furnishing the
porch is going to be a blast, but honestly, I’m overwhelmed by all of the choices
for outdoor furniture. We’ve never owned
any before, so I’m not exactly sure what to look for. I have no idea which colors are best for
camouflaging dirt, and which materials are best for weathering the elements, so
I have no clue where to start! I do know
that we (and by “we” I mean me) would like to divide the porch into three
areas:
1.
A sitting area with a couch, a couple of
chairs, a cute rug, and maybe a coffee table
2. A dining area with a table and some chairs or a bench
3. A “layout” area with a couple of chaise lounges and a little table for relaxing and reading books
In addition to the above, I would also like some sort of storage cabinet or bins for all of the kids’ outdoor toys. If anyone has any recommendations for any of the above, they would be greatly appreciated!
Hope your
weekends are full of sunshine and everything wonderful!
